Objectives: The study aimed to (1) determine if a variety of workplace and supervision factors predict clinical supervision effectiveness; and (2) establish if clinical supervision effectiveness predicts burnout, amongst a variety of mental health staff (medical, allied health, and nursing staff).

Objective: Youth-onset type 2 diabetes (T2D) is physiologically distinct from adult-onset, but it is not clear how the two diseases differ at a molecular level. In utero exposure to maternal type 2 diabetes (T2D) is known to be a specific risk factor for youth-onset T2D. DNA methylation (DNAm) changes associated with T2D but which differ between youth- and adult-onset might delineate the impacts of T2D development at different ages and could also determine the contribution of exposure to in utero diabetes.

In this systematic review, 18 articles met inclusion criteria to be qualitatively analyzed for converging evidence of brain activity, measured using event-related potential (ERP), related to retrospectively reported childhood adversity/trauma. Using the PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews, 917 articles were assessed for inclusion and were filtered using study parameters. The most common ERP components listed in the literature were P100, N170, N200, P200, P300, ERN, and LPP.

With the majority of veterinary graduates entering primary care practice (PCP), there is increasing recognition of the importance of preparing students to practice across a broad spectrum of care (SoC). The traditional model of veterinary training, focused on the referral hospital environment, can make this challenging. The goal of this study was to examine the effect of hearing loss on theta and alpha electroencephalography (EEG) frequency power measures of performance monitoring and cognitive inhibition, respectively, during a speech-in-noise task. It was hypothesized that hearing loss would be associated with an increase in the peak power of theta and alpha frequencies toward easier conditions compared to normal hearing adults. The shift would reflect how hearing loss modulates the recruitment of listening effort to easier listening conditions.

Background: As farm animal clinical practice continues to evolve, it is timely to gather expert opinion on and form an evidence base for the practical skill requirements for new graduates entering farm animal practice to ensure that undergraduate training maps to the needs of the profession.

Methods: Existing lists of practical skills for cattle and sheep were reviewed. Practitioners were recruited from UK farm and mixed veterinary practices to take part in a Delphi process to gain consensus on the most (and least) important skills for day 1 in practice.

Models for cyanobacterial harmful algae blooms (cHABs) in fresh waters are usually predicated on the relationship between cyanobacterial ecology and dissolved nutrients, particularly phosphorous. Here we show legacy sediment-associated phosphorous as the primary driver of a benthic cHAB, not phosphorous in the water column. Objective: Our aim in this study was to determine the best administrative data case definition for pregestational diabetes exposure.

Methods: We compared the performance of case definitions for pregestational diabetes exposure within the administrative health data housed in the Manitoba Population Health Research Repository at the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy with an identified population of women in whom the diagnosis of pregestational diabetes was known from the clinical database of the Manitoba Diabetes Education Resource for Children and Adolescents (DER-CA) (August 12, 1989 through January 28, 2015). The DER-CA database contains maternal diabetes status during pregnancy and also includes women diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in childhood whose pregnancies were thus all complicated by pregestational diabetes exposure.
