Background: In chronic hepatitis B virus (CHB) patients, both dendritic cells (DCs) and T cells are functionally impaired and consequently the HBV-specific cellular immune responses are downregulated. The present study aims to investigate whether monocyte-derived DC (MoDCs)-pulsed-HBV subviral particles (HBVsvp) can polarize Th1 cells to induce HBV-specific cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTL) responses in CHB patients.
Methods And Materials: To this end, the human hepatoma HepG2.
Introduction: Trichomoniasis is a worldwide sexually transmitted disease caused by Trichomonas vaginalis. It inflicts severe complications to the human genitourinary system. The devastating negative effects and the emergence of resistance to common medication impose the search for safer and effective alternatives.

The extent to which As transport is retarded by adsorption is particularly relevant in Bangladesh where low-As wells offer the best chance of reducing chronic exposure to As of a large rural population dependent on groundwater. In this study, column experiments were conducted with intact cores in the field to measure As retardation.

In this study, common PAH compounds were quantitatively determined in crude oil from the DWH spill by gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy (GC-MS). Twelve PAH compounds were identified and quantified from a 100× dilution of DWH crude oil: naphthalene (7800 ng/mL), acenaphthylene (590 ng/mL), acenaphtehen (540 ng/mL), fluorene (2550 ng/mL), phenanthrene (2910 ng/mL), anthracene (840 ng/mL), fluoranthene (490 ng/mL), pyrene (290 ng/mL), benzo(k) fluoranthene (1050 ng/mL), benzo(b)fluoranthene (1360 ng/mL), dibenz(a,h)anthracene (2560 ng/mL), and benzo(g, h, i) perylene (630 ng/mL).

It is logical to predict that pregnant women infected with the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) might be at higher risk for severe illness, morbidity, or mortality compared with non-pregnant women. However, a review of the literature indicates that pregnant women are not more likely to be seriously ill than other healthy non-pregnant women if they develop coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Impact of these interactions-surface tension (SFT) and, more broadly, interfacial tension (IFT)-is particularly evident at micro and nano sizescales. Thus, implications of walking on water can be significant for SFT or IFT (S/IFT)-driven nanofabrication technologies, such as electrohydrodynamic atomization (EHDA), in developing next generation biomimetic microphysiological systems (MPS) and drug delivery systems (DDS).

Despite the available treatments for PCa, a significant number of patients relapse as the disease becomes hormonal‑independent. p53 is a common tumor suppressor; however, its activity is diminished via the overexpression of murine double minute‑2 (MDM2).

Objective: To evaluate which factors are associated with DWI lesions, whether associated factors differ by ICH location, and whether DWI lesions are associated with functional outcomes.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This analysis pooled individual patient data from 3 randomized clinical trials (Minimally Invasive Surgery Plus Alteplase for Intracerebral Hemorrhage Evacuation phase 3 trial, Antihypertensive Treatment of Acute Cerebral Hemorrhage trial, and Intracerebral Hemorrhage Deferoxamine phase 2 trial) and 1 multicenter prospective study (Ethnic/Racial Variations of Intracerebral Hemorrhage).
Multifunctional nanoparticles (NPs) with magnetic (M) and antibacterial properties were prepared for drug delivery purposes by a method involving co-precipitation synthesis. Partial and complete substitutions of ferrous ions (Fe) by copper ions (Cu) were carried out for the preparation of the magnetite NPs, which are designated as CuM and CuM, respectively, in this work. In addition, chitosan and ciprofloxacin were hybridized with the NPs from the previous step to achieve multifunctional properties.

Preparation of GO sheets with <2 nm thickness was performed through a modified Hummers approach. Controlled CuO spheres with a mean size of 40 nm were prepared through a wet-chemical approach.

Alloimmunization to platelets may lead to refractoriness to PLT. Data on the implications of platelet alloimmunization in patients undergoing LT remain limited.

Objective: To assess long-term population-based trends in the incidence of ICH, examine incidence rates stratified by deep and lobar locations, and characterize location-specific risk factors.
Background: The current expert view of the PCSK9 inhibitors' use in Egypt is still ambiguous.
Main Body: Hyperlipidemia is an important, if not the most important, risk factor for the occurrence of atherosclerosis worldwide. Egypt is the most populous country in the Middle East and North Africa and has > 15% of the cardiovascular deaths in the region.
Introduction: Mucosal melanoma is rare and associated with poorer prognosis in comparison to conventional melanoma subtypes. Little is known about the prognostic significance as well as possible associations between PARP1 and immunologic response in mucosal melanoma.
Methods: PARP1, PD-L1 and IDO1 immunostains were performed on 192 mucosal melanomas including 86 vulvar, 89 sinonasal, and 17 anorectal melanomas.
Objective: Observational studies point to an inverse correlation between low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels and risk of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), but it remains unclear whether this association is causal. We tested the hypothesis that genetically elevated LDL is associated with reduced risk of ICH.
Methods: We constructed one polygenic risk score (PRS) per lipid trait (total cholesterol, LDL, high-density lipoprotein [HDL], and triglycerides) using independent genomewide significant single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) for each trait.
Hyaluronidase enzyme (HAase) has a role in the dissolution or disintegration of hyaluronic acid (HA) and in maintaining the heathy state of skin. Natural biomimetic surfaces have the advantages of micro-/nanoroughness and minimized free energy characteristics that can motivate the dynamic fabrication of superhydrophobic antifouling surfaces. This review provides an architectural panorama of the biomimetic antifouling designs and their key leverages to broaden horizons in the controlled fabrication of nanocomposite building blocks as force-driven marine antifouling models.

A systematic review was performed to identify all studies that randomized patients with cardiovascular risk factors to statin treatment and assessed the effect of statin treatment on covert infarcts (asymptomatic, evident only on neuroimaging) and white matter hyperintensity (WMH) accrual on MRI.
Methods: A systematic review in MEDLINE and Scopus from inception to 23 October 2019 was performed.
