Background: Comprehensive and representative data on resource use are critical for health policy decision making but often lacking for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Privacy-preserving probabilistic record linkage of claim and cohort study data may overcome these limitations.
Methods: Encrypted dates of birth, sex, study center, and antiretroviral therapy (ART) from the Swiss HIV Cohort Study (SHCS) records for 2012 and 2013 were linked by privacy-preserving probabilistic record linkage with claim data from the largest health insurer covering 15% of the Swiss residential population.
Objectives: To assess the quality of antibiotic prescribing of Swiss primary care physicians with high prescription rates.
Methods: In January 2015, we mailed a structured questionnaire to 2900 primary care physicians in Switzerland. They were included in a nationwide pragmatic randomized controlled trial on routine antibiotic prescription monitoring and feedback based on health insurance claims data.
Importance: Feedback interventions using routinely collected health data might reduce antibiotic use nationwide without requiring the substantial resources and structural efforts of other antibiotic stewardship programs.
Objective: To determine if quarterly antibiotic prescription feedback over 2 years reduces antibiotic use when implemented in a complex health care system.
Design, Setting, And Participants: Pragmatic randomized trial using routinely collected claims data on 2900 primary care physicians with the highest antibiotic prescription rates in Switzerland.

Objectives: This study sought to investigate the impact of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) with different antithrombotic strategies.
Background: CKD is associated with increased risk of adverse ischemic and hemorrhagic events after primary PCI for STEMI.
Methods: HORIZONS-AMI (Harmonizing Outcomes With Revascularization and Stents in Acute Myocardial Infarction) trial was a multicenter, international, randomized trial comparing bivalirudin monotherapy or heparin plus a glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitor (GPI) during primary PCI in STEMI.
Measurement of left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP) is readily obtainable in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). However, the prognostic utility of LVEDP during primary PCI has never been studied. LVEDP was measured in 2,797 patients during primary PCI in the Harmonizing Outcomes with RevascularIZatiON and Stents in Acute Myocardial Infarction (HORIZONS-AMI) trial.
