The present new species is distinct from , the type species of the genus by morphological characteristics and nuclear rDNA sequences. is characterized by its nodulose cystidium-like terminal elements of pileipellis, cylindrical to clavate pileocystidia with irregular excrescences, and dimorphic pleurocystidia.
