Knowledge acquisition and retention following Saving Children's Lives course for healthcare providers in Botswana: a longitudinal cohort study.

Objectives: Millions of children die every year from serious childhood illnesses. Most deaths are avertable with access to quality care. Saving Children's Lives (SCL) includes an abbreviated high-intensity training (SCL-aHIT) for providers who treat serious childhood illnesses.

Feasibility and preliminary validity evidence for remote video-based assessment of clinicians in a global health setting.

Background: Serious childhood illnesses (SCI), defined as severe pneumonia, severe dehydration, sepsis, and severe malaria, remain major contributors to amenable child mortality worldwide. Inadequate recognition and treatment of SCI are factors that impact child mortality in Botswana. Skills assessments of providers caring for SCI have not been validated in low and middle-income countries.

Knowledge Accrual Following Participation in Pediatric Fundamental Critical Care Support Course in Gaborone, Botswana.

Objectives: To describe provider characteristics, knowledge acquisition, perceived relevance, and instruction quality of the Society of Critical Care Medicine's Pediatric Fundamentals of Critical Care Support course pilot implementation in Botswana.

Design: Observational, single center.

Setting: Academic, upper middle-income country.
