Background: Little is known about the recently emerging entity, heart failure with supranormal ejection fraction (HFsnEF).
Objective: To describe the clinical characteristics and outcome of HFsnEF, compared to HF with mildly reduced EF (HFmrEF) and HF with preserved EF (HFpEF) patients.
Design: A single center retrospective analysis.
Background: Reports of nonrheumatic streptococcal pharyngitis-associated myocarditis (SPAM) are rare, and its incidence, pathophysiology, and clinical features remain unclear. We evaluated the clinical course and outcome of patients diagnosed with nonrheumatic SPAM, with a particular focus on differentiating it from other etiologies of myocarditis.
Methods: Seventy-nine consecutive individuals (age 32 ± 9 years, 71 men) with clinically diagnosed SPAM were evaluated.
Background: Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is an easy-to-use inflammatory biomarker. Baseline NLR is independently associated with incident cardiovascular events and all-cause mortality. However, whether this applies to acute myocarditis (AM) has not been evaluated.

Patients living with diabetes mellitus exhibit an up to fourfold increased risk of developing CAD compared to individuals without diabetes. Furthermore, CAD is responsible for 40 to 80 percent of the observed mortality rates among patients with type 2 diabetes.

This variability could potentially be addressed by language learning models like ChatGPT, offering decision-making support in diverse health care environments. Our study aims to critically evaluate the concordance between recommendations made by MDHT and those generated by language learning models in coronary revascularization decision-making.

These events constitute a nationwide trauma with major ramifications for public mental health. This article presents an evidence-based model for the prediction of the prevalence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) related to the terrorist attack and the war.

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is indicated for severe aortic stenosis patients with a prohibitive surgical risk. However, its use has been expanding in recent years to include intermediate- and low-risk patients. Thus, registry data describing changes in patient characteristics and outcomes are needed.

Background And Aims: Long-term data on atrial fibrillation (AF) impact on tricuspid regurgitation (TR) progression and its relation to pulmonary pressure are scant. We investigated this association in a study spanning over a decade.
Methods: Adults with echocardiographic evaluation before 2014, free of significant TR, were included.
Background: Heart failure with improved ejection fraction (HFimpEF) is a recently recognized entity presenting a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. Our aim was to characterize the profile of HFimpEF patients and evaluate predictors for EF lack of improvement among heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) patients.
Methods: We included ambulatory HFrEF patients (EF≤40%) between January 1, 2015, and September 1, 2022, with two consecutive echocardiography exams at least 6 months apart.
Background: The ACURATE neo2 transcatheter aortic valve was developed to improve paravalvular leak (PVL) rates while maintaining low rates of conduction disturbances and permanent pacemaker implantation (PPMI) seen with its predecessor. We aimed to compare conduction disturbances rates of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) using ACURATE Neo2 with other commonly used valves.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of the Israeli TAVR registry between the years 2014-2023 was performed to compare conduction disturbances and PVL rates, and procedural outcomes, among patients treated with ACURATE neo2, Edwards Sapien 3 (S3), and Evolut PRO valves.
Purpose: To evaluate the association of cardiorespiratory fitness with elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in healthy adults.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, we evaluated 17,990 asymptomatic self-referred adults free of diabetes or cardiovascular disease who were screened in a preventive healthcare setting. All subjects underwent measurement of IOP and completed a maximal exercise stress test according to the Bruce protocol.

Deprescribing is a long-overdue concept for psychiatrists and therapists, presenting potentially more sophisticated approaches to psychiatric care. This approach is fueled by both scientific pursuits and contemporary social ideologies that underscore the pivotal role of a patient's values and their freedom of choice. Indeed, deprescribing is well woven with modern liberal and progressive values.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of all consecutive patients who underwent LVAD Heart Mate 3 (HM3) implantation at a single medical center and received SGLT2-I therapy following surgery was conducted. LVAD parameters, medical therapy, laboratory tests, echocardiography, and right heart catheterization (RHC) study results were recorded and compared before and after initiation of SGLT2-I.
We trapped catalytically engaged topoisomerase IIβ (TOP2B) in covalent DNA cleavage complexes (TOP2Bccs) and mapped their positions genome-wide in cultured mouse cortical neurons. We report that TOP2Bcc distribution varies with both nucleosome and compartmental chromosome organization. While TOP2Bccs in gene bodies correlate with their level of transcription, highly expressed genes that lack the usually associated chromatin marks, such as H3K36me3, show reduced TOP2Bccs, suggesting that histone posttranslational modifications regulate TOP2B activity.

Myocarditis is an inflammatory disease of the myocardium characterized by a great heterogeneity of presentation and evolution. Treatment of myocarditis is often supportive, and the evidence for immunosuppression is scarce and debated. Conventional treatment is based on clinical presentation, ranging from conservative to advanced mechanical assist devices.
