Electron acceptor possessing strong electron-withdrawing ability and exceptional stability is crucial for developing donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) structured aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) with second near-infrared (NIR-II) emission. Although 6,7-diphenyl-[1,2,5] thiadiazolo [3,4-] quinoxaline (PTQ) and benzobisthiadiazole (BBT) are widely employed as NIR-II building blocks, they still suffer from limited electron-withdrawing capacity or inadequate chemo-stability under alkaline conditions. Herein, a boron difluoride formazanate (BFF) acceptor is utilized to construct NIR-II AIEgen, which exhibits a better overall performance in terms of NIR-II emission and chemo-stability compared to the PTQ- and BBT-derived fluorophores.

The probiotic attributes of NY1301 were comprehensively characterized, and a comparison between the closely related LcA (Actimel) and LcY (Yakult) probiotic strains was conducted using genomic tools. All strains exhibited high genetic similarity and likely shared a common ancestor; differences were primarily expressed as minor chromosomal re-arrangements, substitutions, insertions, and deletions. Several proteins have been shown to undergo a shift in the mechanism of ligand binding-induced folding from conformational selection (CS; folding precedes binding) to induced fit (IF; binding precedes folding) with increasing ligand concentration. In previous studies of the coupled folding/binding reaction of staphylococcal nuclease (SNase) in the presence of a substrate analogue, adenosine-3',5'-diphosphate (prAp), we found that the two phosphate groups make important energetic contributions toward stabilizing its complex with the native protein as well as transient conformational states encountered at high ligand concentrations favoring IF. The nuclear burn history provides critical information about the dynamics of the hot-spot formation and high-density fuel-shell assembly of an Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) implosion, as well as information on the impact of alpha heating, and a multitude of implosion failure mechanisms. It is known that gastrointestinal microbiota, probiotics and heat-killed microbes can regulate intestinal immunity; however, their effect on the secretion of gastrointestinal hormones is unclear. The secretion of gastrointestinal hormones can be mediated by the elevation of intracellular Ca concentration, suggesting that these hormones may act through common mechanisms. We have previously shown that heat-killed SBC8803 (hk-SBC8803) induced the secretion of serotonin and elevated intracellular Ca concentration in serotonin-producing RIN-14B cells, suggesting that hk-SBC8803 could potentially cause the same effect on other gastrointestinal hormones, including hunger hormone ghrelin.
