Background: Mental illness is one of the top causes of preventable pregnancy-related deaths in the United States. There are many barriers that interfere with the ability of perinatal individuals to access traditional mental health care. Digital health interventions, including app-based programs, have the potential to increase access to useful tools for these individuals.

Doctors' voices generate support for abortion care: Results from a nationally representative survey.

Objectives: We tested abortion messaging to develop evidence-based communication recommendations for doctors who provide abortion care.

Study Design: We conducted an online survey in a nationally representative sample of 1215 people, using National Opinion Research Center's Amerispeak Panel. We surveyed participants before and after viewing two brief videos featuring doctors who provide abortion care speaking about their work.

Objective: We conducted a national survey to assess the experiences of stigma and harassment among physicians and nurse practitioners providing abortions and abortion service administrators in Canada.

Study Design: We conducted an exploratory, cross-sectional, national, anonymized, online survey between July and December 2020. Objectives: The study aims to investigate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on physical activity and frequency of implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) therapies of patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices.

Durability of treatment response to zolpidem using a partial reinforcement regimen: does this strategy require priming?

Background: Previous research has shown that after one month of full dose nightly treatment with zolpidem (priming), subjects with chronic insomnia (CI) switched to intermittent dosing with medication and placebos were able to maintain their treatment responses. This approach to maintenance therapy is referred to as partial reinforcement. The present study sought to assess whether priming is required for partial reinforcement or whether intermittent dosing with placebos (50% placebos and 50% active medication) can, by itself, be used for both acute and extended treatment.

In the new era of healthcare digitalization, there is a golden opportunity in the overlap between digital health and Real-World Evidence (RWE). In this commentary, we define RWE and digital health and investigate their intersection. We describe the stages in the RWE value chain critical to the evidence generation process, how these stages change with new digital technologies and the opportunities and challenges that arise from how these stages evolve-including their application for stakeholders such as patients, physicians and regulators.

According to the "3P model" of insomnia, the variable that mediates the transition from acute insomnia (AI) to chronic insomnia is "sleep extension" (the behavioural tendency to expand sleep opportunity to compensate for sleep loss). In the present analysis, we sought to evaluate how time in bed (TIB) varies relative to the new onset of AI and chronic insomnia. A total of 1,248 subjects were recruited as good sleepers (GS).

Here, the forum discusses the value in bridging the industry disconnect between RTCs and RWE, with a view to promoting the use of RWE in the RCT environment. RCT endpoints are explored along several axes including their clinical relevance and their measure of direct patient benefit, and then compared with their real-world counterparts to identify suitable paths, or gaps, for assimilating RWE endpoints into the RCT environment.

Addressing Abortion Provider Stigma: A Pilot Implementation of the Providers Share Workshop in Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America.

Context: In much of Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, abortion is legally restricted, and abortion providers experience stigma and legal jeopardy. The Providers Share Workshop group intervention has been shown to reduce provider stigma in the United States, but has not been evaluated in other settings.

Methods: In 2014-2015, the Providers Share Workshop was adapted and piloted among 59 abortion caregivers from three Sub-Saharan African countries and 93 caregivers from seven Latin American countries.

Stigma and abortion complications: stories from three continents.

Complications from abortion, while rare, are to be expected, as with any medical procedure. While the vast majority of serious abortion complications occur in parts of the world where abortion is legally restricted, legal access to abortion is not a guarantee of safety, particularly in regions where abortion is highly stigmatised. Women who seek abortion and caregivers who help them are universally negatively "marked" by their association with abortion.
