Introduction: Representation of female and minority physicians varies across specialties and may influence career selection by medical students. To investigate the effect of demographic concordance between medical students and clinical role models on specialty selection, we conducted a survey of graduating medical students to assess the perceived importance and influence of third-year clerkship experiences with demographically concordant preceptors on their choice of specialty for post-graduate training.

Methods: An 11-question survey was shared nationally through AAMC Organizational Student Representatives to medical students in the Class of 2023.

Breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is a rare cancer found in women with breast implants, occurring approximately eight years after their placement. Since the initial case report of BIA-ALCL in 1997, over 700 cases have been described worldwide and there is now a registry of cases diagnosed in the United States to help learn more about this disease process and prognosis. The majority of cases have been associated with Allergan's textured implants which have been recalled.

Inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that accounts for only a small percent of invasive breast cancers in the United States. We report a case of advanced bilateral IBC in a 60-year-old female. This case report explores the clinical presentation, pathological findings, and different imaging modalities that can assist in the diagnosis of this disease.

This article details a partnership between a mobile mammography center and a mosque, aimed at increasing mammography screening for uninsured Muslim women in South Florida.
