The authors present the results of 85 redo operations, which were performed in the 3rd Surgical Department of Semmelweis University and the Surgical Department of St. Borbála Hospital in Tatabánya. The period under survey lasted for five years from 01 January 1996 to 31 December 2000.

The late results of the first 30 crural bypass operations are presented. The longest follow-up period was 6, the shortest 1 year. At the time of check-ups 14 of the bypasses were penetrable, and 16 were occluded.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe authors investigated the growth of 8 species of pathogenic aerobic bacteria after treatment with hyperbaric oxygen. Within 24 hours the cultures were exposed three times for 2 hours to an absolute pressure of 3 atmospheres of oxygen at 37 degrees C. In the fluid cultures as well as in the controls the inhibitory effect of oxygen was assessed in percent by means of the densitometric method.
