Purpose: Osimertinib, a third-generation irreversible mutant-selective inhibitor of EGFR kinase activity was clinically evaluated in the AURA trials, where it showed high clinical efficacy and a favorable toxicity profile in patients with acquired exon 20-EGFR pT790M mutation. We provide the clinical data of the German expanded access program that further characterizes the efficacy and safety of osimertinib in a heterogeneous patient population outside clinical trials.
Methods: We performed a retrospective data analysis on patients who were included into the German osimertinib EAP.
Background: We analyzed whether co-occurring mutations influence the outcome of systemic therapy in ALK-rearranged non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
Patients And Methods: ALK-rearranged stage IIIB/IV NSCLC patients were analyzed with next-generation sequencing and fluorescence in situ hybridization analyses on a centralized diagnostic platform. Median progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were determined in the total cohort and in treatment-related sub-cohorts.
The term additive manufacturing (AM) groups together a set of technologies with similar characteristics forming part of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. AM is being developed globally, as evidenced by the standards published by and the agreements between the ISO and the ASTM in 2013. The purpose of this paper is to anticipate the main changes that will occur in AM by 2030 as forecast by more than 100 Spanish experts through Delphi prospection performed in 2018.

We sought to evaluate whether HR immediately before percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is an independent predictor for 30-day outcome. We analyzed the outcome of 3,720 patients who had HR recorded before PCI from the Melbourne Interventional Group registry.

Despite the clinical importance of discrimination, reliable diagnostic biomarkers are still lacking. Here, we have characterised a cohort of squamous cell lung (SQCLC) and head-and-neck (HNSCC) carcinomas by quantitative proteomics.

During the last decades, much has been learned about with cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK) playing a pivotal role in the cell cycle regulation. CDK4/6 is the key regulator of the G1-S transition. Palbociclib (PD 0332991, Ibrance®) is the first oral CDK4/6 inhibitor showing a substantially improved median progression-free survival (PFS) in advanced estrogen receptor (ER) positive and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) negative breast cancer.

Materials And Methods: AURA3 was an open-label, randomized phase III trial involving 419 patients.
Soluble Triggering Receptor Expressed on Myeloid Cells 1 (sTREM-1) can be found in the sera of patients with infectious, autoimmune and malignant diseases. The primary objective of this study was to investigate the prognostic significance of sTREM-1 in lung cancer patients. We analyzed the sera of 164 patients with lung cancer of all histologies and all stages at the time of diagnosis.

Abdominal pseudocyst (AP) is quite a rare complication after ventriculoperitoneal shunting (VPS) for the treatment of hydrocephalus. Laparoscopy is an alternative method to open surgery with well-known advantages. There are not many reports of using laparoscopy to treat this condition and existing algorithms are based on small groups of patients; thus every case would give an additional insight into the treatment of this complication.

Furthermore, information is lacking regarding the fairness in the access to these services. This study aimed to ascertain whether horizontal and vertical equity requirements were being met in the healthcare utilisation among older adults aged 50 years and above.

This study aimed to determine sensitivity and specificity of continuous-wave Doppler for detecting peripheral arterial disease in populations with, and without, diabetes and to investigate the influence of disease severity on sensitivity of continuous-wave Doppler for detecting peripheral arterial disease.
Results: Data from 396 participants were included.
The present study focuses on the utilization of green silver nanoparticles, as they are preferred for sensing applications due to their environmentally friendly nature. We have examined the optical and electrochemical sensing behavior of silver nanoparticles from Agaricus bisporus (AgNP-AB) towards Hg(II) ions. The AgNP-AB was prepared by microwave reactor.

Self-reported information from 873 participants was drawn from questionnaires, with complementary neighbourhood register data. The concentration index was used to estimate the inequality while decomposition analyses were run to attribute the disparity to its underlying determinants.

The characteristic feature is generalized dryness. The aim of this study was to attempt to answer the question whether it is possible to distinguish between patients with pSS and individuals with dryness caused by other pathologies without applying invasive studies.

Emergence of multidrug-resistant bacteria forces us to explore new therapeutic strategies, and proteins involved in key metabolic pathways are promising anti-bacterial targets. Bifunctional flavin-adenine dinucleotide (FAD) synthetases (FADS) are prokaryotic enzymes that synthesise the flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and FAD cofactors. The FADS from the human pathogen Streptococcus pneumoniae (SpnFADS)-causative agent of pneumonia in humans - shows relevant catalytic dissimilarities compared to other FADSs.
