This report presents the case of a seven-year-old child diagnosed with Grisel's syndrome following a craniotomy for a cystic brain lesion. The patient initially presented with persistent, progressively worsening headaches that coincided with neurological symptoms. Imaging revealed a massive cystic lesion causing a significant compression and midline shift.

Digital stories are compelling accounts of lived experience that have been useful in health promotion, especially in minoritized communities. Little is known about how they are perceived as a behavioral intervention to improve influenza vaccination confidence in safety-net healthcare systems.

Vein of Galen malformations (VOGMs) are rare and complex congenital vascular anomalies that can lead to severe morbidity and mortality. Management predominantly focuses on postnatal endovascular interventions. However, these may not be feasible for fetuses with hemodynamic instability and high-output cardiac failure and may fail to prevent irreversible brain damage induced by prolonged compression by the venous varix, hemodynamic alterations and resultant potential ischemic injury.

This study aims to discuss the demographic profile, surgical access, and strategies used in drug-resistant epilepsy in Africa.
Methods: A systematic review was performed using PubMed, Google Scholar, Embase, and Web of Science in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses guidelines.
Minimally invasive neural interfaces can be used to diagnose, manage and treat many disorders, with reduced risks of surgical complications. However, endovascular probes lack access to key cortical, subcortical and spinal targets, and are not typically explantable after endothelialization. Here we report the development and testing, in sheep, of endocisternal neural interfaces that approach brain and spinal cord targets through inner and outer spaces filled with cerebrospinal fluid.

Methods: We reviewed prospectively collected data from the UK National Ligament Registry for patients who underwent primary ACLR between January 2013 and December 2022. Patients were categorized into five groups: isolated ACLR, ACLR with medial meniscus (MM) repair, ACLR with MM resection, ACLR with lateral meniscus (LM) repair, and ACLR with LM resection.
Purpose: Vaccination rates are significantly lower among adolescents living in rural areas compared to those living in urban areas. The objective of this study was to understand the factors contributing to disparities in vaccination between adolescents in rural compared to urban areas.
Methods: Semi-structured qualitative interviews were conducted with parents and providers in 16 rural and 4 urban counties of Colorado.
To assess multilevel factors associated with variation in COVID-19 vaccination rates in a US network of community health centers. Using multilevel logistic regression with electronic health record data from ADVANCE (Accelerating Data Value Across a National Community Health Center Network; January 1, 2022-December 31, 2022), we assessed associations between health care delivery site-level (n = 1219) and patient-level (n = 1 864 007) characteristics and COVID-19 primary vaccine series uptake. A total of 1 337 440 patients completed the COVID-19 primary vaccine series.

While the search process is conventionally described by a linear "scanning" model, its exquisitely dynamic nature has restricted detailed mechanistic study. Here, we observed single ribosomal scanning complexes in real time, finding that they scan diverse mRNA leaders at a rate of 10 to 20 nt s.

This study reviews global NTRs from High-Income (HICs) and Low- and Middle-Income countries (LMICs). A systematic review was conducted using PubMed, Google Scholar, Embase, and Web of Science following PRISMA guidelines to identify relevant NTRs.

A strong clinician recommendation improves vaccine uptake, but the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine recommendation practices of rural primary care clinicians have not been reported. Our objectives were to describe, among rural Colorado pediatric clinicians: 1) recommendation practices for COVID-19 vaccine compared to influenza and school-entry required vaccines, and 2) personal attitudes.

Our objective was to assess whether clinicians perceive a spillover effect of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy onto other vaccines, and the impact of this spillover on their general recommendation behavior.
Methods: We conducted semistructured interviews with pediatricians in California and Colorado pediatric practices (January-March 2023).
Background Patients utilize online health information to inform their medical decision-making. YouTube is one of the most popular media platforms with abundant health-related resources, yet the quality of the disseminated information remains unclear. This study aims to evaluate the quality and reliability of content pertaining to diverticulosis and diverticulitis on YouTube.
