Importance: Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a common, dose-limiting adverse effect of taxane-based chemotherapies. Currently, there is no established strategy for prevention or treatment.
Objective: To compare the effectiveness of 1-sided hand cooling and compression for preventing CIPN in patients with primary breast cancer receiving taxane-based chemotherapy.
Background High-resolution imaging methods contribute important pathomorphological information in diagnosing peripheral nerve disorders, but their diagnostic roles remain unclear due to limited clinical evidence. Purpose To investigate the diagnostic performance of high-resolution nerve US (HRUS) and MR neurography (MRN). Materials and Methods This prospective observational, single-center cohort study included 800 patients referred for clinically suspected peripheral neuropathy of the upper extremity from November 2015 to February 2022.

This study proposes a method for three-dimensional quantification of MD and evaluates its accuracy and reliability. A 3D lattice phantom was designed and measured with two sequences (VIBE and SPACE) and two implants (crown-supported-dental-implant and stainless-steel-bracket).

However, multidrug-resistant Enterococcus is frequently identified, raising concerns about the potential for spreading these resistant microorganisms to humans due to their zoonotic nature. This study aimed to identify VRE colonizing animals admitted to a veterinary hospital and to determine the presence of the major resistance genes responsible for vancomycin resistance.

It seeks to identify the key characteristics of the most suitable taxonomy for use in high-fidelity simulation-based postgraduate courses in Critical Care. While many taxonomies are available, none seem to be explicitly designed for the unique context of healthcare simulation-based education, in which errors are regarded as essential learning opportunities.

Studies of profile analysis have focused on normal-hearing listeners and target frequencies near 1 kHz. To provide more insight into underlying mechanisms, we studied profile analysis over a large target frequency range (0.

Three pulses of 12 Gy were separated by a pause of four weeks during which the tumor was given enough time to respond to treatment. Only initial planning computed tomography (CT) was acquired on a CT simulator (Siemens Somatom Definition Edge), whereas other pulses were adapted using online cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images (iCBCT Acuros reconstruction) acquired while the patient was lying on the treatment couch and delivered immediately.

This exceptional longevity is based on multifaceted processes influenced by a combination of intrinsic and extrinsic factors such as sex, (epi-)genetic factors, gut microbiota, cellular metabolism, exposure to oxidative stress, immune status, cardiovascular risk factors, environmental factors, and lifestyle behavior. Epidemiologically, the incidence rate of cardiovascular diseases is reduced in healthy centenarians along with late onset of age-related diseases compared with the general aged population.

However, different TEAD selectivity profiles did not affect the compound potency or efficacy in the NCI-H226 viability assay. Amides based on or analogues showed improved viability efficacy compared with the corresponding acids.

Tumor monitoring by conventional MRI has shortcomings to assess these key glioma characteristics. Recent studies introduced chemical exchange saturation transfer for metabolic imaging in oncology and assessed its diagnostic value for newly diagnosed glioma.

Along this path, it has been demonstrated that the electronic band structure of the GeSn/SiGeSn heterostructures can be tuned into a direct bandgap quantum structure providing optical gain for lasing. In this paper, we present a versatile electrically pumped, continuous-wave laser emitting at a near-infrared wavelength of 2.

Such SUEPs are predicted by hidden valley models with a new, confining force with a large 't Hooft coupling. In events with boosted topologies, selected by high-threshold hadronic triggers, the multiplicity and sphericity of clustered tracks are used to reject the background from standard model quantum chromodynamics.

Among the diseases that can severely compromise trade relations and cause significant losses in pig production in Brazil, Classical Swine Fever (CSF) is notable for being a highly contagious viral disease with high potential for spreading among domestic and wild pigs, wild boars, and peccaries. The present study aimed to identify high-risk regions for CSF in Brazil through spatial, temporal, and spatiotemporal analyses from 2000 to 2023.

In this study, we aimed to establish high-resolution magnetic resonance neurography (MRN) to accurately visualize and monitor de novo-formed epineural fibrotic adhesions (EFAs) of the sciatic nerve in a rat nerve injury model.
Methods: Employing an established model to induce overshooting EFA, the study included 3 experimental groups of animals (n = 6 each): a positive control group (PC), an intervention group (IG), and a sham group.

The aim of this study is to test tension-based criterion in the BRRA of AAA which removes the necessity of wall thickness measurement and should be faster. For that, we retrospectively analyzed 99 patients with intact AAA (25 females).
