Background: In recent years, the use of non- and semi-parametric models which estimate hazard ratios for analysing time-to-event outcomes is continuously criticized in terms of interpretation, technical implementation, and flexibility. Hazard ratios in particular are critically discussed for their misleading interpretation as relative risks and their non-collapsibility. Additive hazard models do not have these drawbacks but are rarely used because they assume a non- or semi-parametric additive hazard which renders computation and interpretation complicated.

Methods: Participants were <18 years old at diagnosis with at least 1 HbA1c measured within 12 months post diagnosis, along with ≥3 duration-year-aggregated HbA1c values over 10 years of follow-up.
Objective: Insulin delivery methods, glucose-monitoring modalities, and related outcomes were examined in a large, international, diverse cohort of children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes from the Better Control in Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes: Working to Create Centers of Reference (SWEET) -Registry.
Research Design And Methods: Participants with type 1 diabetes of ≥1 year, aged ≤18 years, and who had documented pump or sensor usage during the period August 2017-July 2019 were stratified into four categories: injections-no sensor (referent); injections + sensor; pump-no sensor; and pump + sensor. HbA and proportion of patients with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) or severe hypoglycemia (SH) were analyzed; linear and logistic regression models adjusted for demographics, region, and gross domestic product per capita were applied.
The international SWEET registry (NCT04427189) was initiated in 2008 to improve outcomes in pediatric diabetes. A 10-year follow-up allowed studying time trends of key quality indicators in 22 centers from Europe, Australia, Canada, and India in youth with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Aggregated data per person with T1D <25 years of age were compared between 2008-2010 and 2016-2018.

Methods: Children with T1D from the SWEET registry, diagnosed <18 years, with documented clinical presentation, HbA1c at onset and follow-up were included. Participants were categorized according to T1D onset: (a) DKA (DKA with coma, DKA without coma, no DKA); (b) HbA1c at onset (low [<10%], medium [10 to <12%], high [≥12%]).
Background: BMI fluctuations during puberty are common. Data on individual change in BMI from childhood to young adulthood are limited in youth with type 1 diabetes.
Objectives: To compare longitudinal trajectories of body mass index z score (BMIz) from childhood to adolescence across three registries spanning five countries.
Objectives: Only a fraction of youth meet established targets for glycemic control; many experience deteriorating control over time. We compared trajectories of hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) among youth from three trans-continental type 1 diabetes (T1D) registries and identified clinical variables associated with the odds of following increasing vs stable trajectories.
Research Design And Methods: Analyses included longitudinal data from 15 897 individuals age 8 to 18 with T1D for at least 2 years and HbA1c measurements in at least 5 years during the observation period.
Aim: To identify groups of heterogeneous HbA trajectories over time in newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetes.
Methods: The study comprised 6355 adults with newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetes (55% men, median age 62 years, baseline BMI 31 kg/m ) from the Diabetes Patienten Verlaufsdokumentation (DPV) prospective multicentre diabetes registry (Germany, Austria). Individuals were assessed during the first 5 years after diabetes diagnosis if they had ≥ 3 aggregated HbA measurements during follow-up.

Aims: To examine the effect of pump vs injection therapy on the lipid profile of children with Type 1 diabetes mellitus.
Methods: A cross-sectional analysis of the lipid profile of children aged ≤ 18 years with Type 1 diabetes mellitus from SWEET, an international diabetes registry, was conducted with a focus on the effect of treatment regimen. Dyslipidaemia was defined as LDL cholesterol ≥2.

Aims: To investigate risk factors for declining renal function among subjects with type-1-diabetes.
Methods: Observational study based on data from the diabetes registry DPV. 4424 type-1-diabetes subjects aged ≥18 years, age at onset <18 years were identified.
Objective: To assess the prevalence of underweight (UW), overweight (OW), and obesity in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Methods: An international cross-sectional study including 23 026 T1D children (2-18 years, duration of diabetes ≥1 year) participating in the SWEET prospective, multicenter diabetes registry. Body mass index SD score (BMI-SDS) was calculated using the World Health Organization BMI charts.
Objective: To identify distinct longitudinal patterns of body mass index (BMI) z score in type 1 diabetes from childhood to young adulthood and secondly to determine sex differences as well as associated clinical covariates.
Study Design: A total of 5665 patients with type 1 diabetes (51% male) with follow-up from 8 to 20 years of age from the multicenter diabetes prospective registry DPV were studied (baseline diabetes duration ≥1 years, BMI z score aggregated per year of life). Latent class growth modeling (SAS: PROC TRAJ) was applied to analyze BMI z score over time.
Objective: There is evidence that transition from pediatric to adult health care is frequently associated with deterioration of health in youths with type 1 diabetes (T1D). The aim of this study was to compare metabolic control, acute complications and microvascular complications in adolescents and young adults before and after transfer to an adult treatment center with respect to the time between first visit in the adult center and last visit in pediatric treatment.
Methods: All data were collected during routine care and retrieved from the German/Austrian DPV database.
Objective: To examine glycemic control in youth with type 1 diabetes (T1D) who switched from multiple daily injections (MDI) to a tubeless insulin pump (Omnipod Insulin Management System, Insulet Corporation, Billerica, Massachusetts) compared to patients who continued MDI therapy over a 3-year time period.
Research Design And Methods: This retrospective analysis of the German/Austrian Diabetes Patienten Verlaufsdokumentation registry included data from 263 centers and 2529 patients <20 years (n = 660 tubeless insulin pump; n = 1869 MDI) who initiated treatment on a tubeless insulin pump as of January 1, 2013 and had 1 year of data preswitch from MDI and 3 years of data postswitch to a tubeless pump. Outcomes included the change in glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), insulin dose, and body mass index (BMI) SD score (SDS).
