Plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) display an increased abundance in visceral adipose tissue (VAT) of humans with obesity. In human hearts, muscarinic receptors (M-R) are expressed in ventricular and atrial tissue, but the acetylcholine-activated potassium current (IK,ACh) is expressed mainly in the atrium. M-R activation decreases force and increases electrical stability in human atrium, but the impact of IK,ACh to both effects remains unclear. A fiber-coupled, compact, remotely operated laser absorption instrument is developed for CO, CO, and HO measurements in reactive flows at the elevated temperatures and pressures expected in gas turbine combustor test rigs with target pressures from 1-25 bar and temperatures of up to 2000 K. The optical engineering for solutions of the significant challenges from the ambient acoustic noise (~120 dB) and ambient test rig temperatures (60 °C) are discussed in detail. The sensor delivers wavelength-multiplexed light in a single optical fiber from a set of solid-state lasers ranging from diodes in the near-infrared (~1300 nm) to quantum cascade lasers in the mid-infrared (~4900 nm).

Methods: In this retrospective analysis of an average risk colorectal cancer screening sample, polyps of all size categories and morphologies were manually segmented on supine and prone CT colonography images and classified as premalignant (adenoma) or benign (hyperplastic polyp or regular mucosa) according to histopathology. Two deep learning models SEG and noSEG were trained on 3D CT colonography image subvolumes to predict polyp class, and model SEG was additionally trained with polyp segmentation masks.

There has been considerable research interest in the ligand nature of N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs). In this work, two six-coordinate NHC iron porphyrin complexes [Fe(TTP)(1,3-MeImd)] (TTP = tetratolylporphyrin, 1,3-MeImd = 1,3-dimethylimidazol-2-ylidene) and [Fe(TDCPP)(1,3-MeImd)]ClO (TDCPP = 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(2,6-dichlorophenyl)porphyrin) are reported. Single-crystal X-ray characterizations demonstrate that both complexes have strongly ruffled conformations and relatively perpendicular ligand orientations which are forced by the sterically bulky 1,3-MeImd NHC ligands.

Polymeric carbon nitride (PCN) is a promising class of materials for solar-to-chemical energy conversion. The increase of the photocatalytic activity of PCN is often achieved by the incorporation of heteroatoms, whose impact on the electronic structure of PCN remains poorly explored.
