We report a case of multiple myoepithelioma with synchronous bone and soft tissue tumors, associated with a new genomic alteration of the locus. The lesions occurred in the foot by presenting one lump in the plantar soft tissue, and three lesions were detected in the calcaneus and in the navicular bone. All tumors showed the double immunophenotype of epithelial markers and S100 protein expression.

The utilization of halogenated organic compounds as terminal electron acceptors separates the phylogenetically diverse organohalide-respiring bacteria from other respiratory anaerobes that predominantly use nitrate, fumarate, sulfate or oxidized metals. Organohalide respiration is unique in recruiting a cobamide-containing iron-sulfur protein, the extracellular membrane-bound reductive dehalogenase, as terminal reductase in the electron transfer chain. In recent years substantial contributions have been made to the understanding of how electron transfer paths couple mechanistically to chemiosmosis in the organohalide-respiring bacteria.

How are reading and writing related? In this study, we address the relationship between letter identification and letter production, uncovering a link in which production information can be used to identify letters presented dynamically. By testing an individual with a deficit in letter identification, we identified a benefit which would be masked by ceiling effects in unimpaired readers. In Experiment 1 we found that letter stimuli defined by the direction of dot motion (tiny dots within letter move leftward, background dots move rightward) provided no advantage over static letters.

The organohalide-respiring bacterium produces a unique cobamide, namely, norpseudo-B, which serves as cofactor of the tetrachloroethene (PCE) reductive dehalogenase (PceA). As previously reported, a replacement of the adeninyl moiety, the lower base of the cofactor, by exogenously applied 5,6-dimethylbenzimidazole led to inactive PceA. To explore the general effect of benzimidazoles on the PCE metabolism, the susceptibility of the organism for guided biosynthesis of various singly substituted benzimidazolyl-norcobamides was investigated, and their use as cofactor by PceA was analyzed.
