Volcanic activity has been shown to affect Earth's climate in a myriad of ways. One such example is that eruptions proximate to surface ice will promote ice melting. In turn, the crustal unloading associated with melting an ice sheet affects the internal dynamics of the underlying magma plumbing system.

Investigated parameters were At%Ce and At%Sm measured using energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDX) after test solution (two concentrations) application.
Materials And Methods: Precipitation of Ce(NO) and Sm(NO) solutions was examined on human enamel with and without a salivary pellicle.
Generative deep learning models enable data-driven de novo design of molecules with tailored features. Chemical language models (CLM) trained on string representations of molecules such as SMILES have been successfully employed to design new chemical entities with experimentally confirmed activity on intended targets. Here, we probe the application of CLM to generate multi-target ligands for designed polypharmacology.

Methods: To assess the impact of pre-hospital heparin loading on TIMI (Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction) flow grade and mortality in STEMI patients with OHCA, we analyzed data from 2,566 consecutive patients from two hospitals participating in the prospective Feedback Intervention and Treatment Times in ST-segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (FITT-STEMI) trial.
Objective: To investigate the accumulation of cerium-nitrate and samarium-nitrate on dentin without or with smear-layer and to test their antibacterial activity.
Design: 24 dentin-enamel slices were cut from 24 extracted molars. 12 slices underwent smear-layer creation (320 grit, 200 g, 5 s), the other 12 smear-layer removal (20 % EDTA, 300 s).
Alpha-synuclein (αsyn) is the key pathogenic protein implicated in synucleinopathies including Parkinson's Disease (PD) and Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB). In these diseases, αsyn is thought to spread between cells where it accumulates and induces pathology; however, mechanisms that drive its propagation or aggregation are poorly understood. We have previously reported that the small GTPase Rab27b is elevated in human PD and DLB and that it can mediate the autophagic clearance and toxicity of αsyn in a paracrine αsyn cell culture neuronal model.

Application of chromatographic methods is also needed in clinical and forensic laboratories for detecting and monitoring propofol misuse.
Objective: We report a method for sensitive analysis of propofol, propofol 1-glucuronide (PG), 4-hydroxypropofol 1-glucuronide (1-QG), 4-hydroxypropofol 4-glucuronide (4-QG) and 4-hydroxypropofol 4-sulfate (4-QS) in urine by LC-MS/MS analysis.
Objectives: Chewing gums containing antiseptics or other antimicrobial substances may be effective in reducing plaque and gingivitis. Therefore, the aim of this randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial was to investigate the efficacy of a novel antimicrobial chewing gum containing essential oils (cinnamon, lemon, peppermint) and extracts on reduction of dental plaque and gingivitis as well as on oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) in adolescent orthodontic patients.
Materials: 52 patients (11-22 years of age) were randomly assigned to use a test chewing gum (COVIDGUM, Clevergum) or a commercially available control chewing gum over a period of 10 days.
The widespread occurrence of multi-resistant bacteria is a health problem of global dimension. Infections caused by multi-resistant pathogens are difficult to treat and often associated with high mortality. Therefore, new treatment strategies are of interest, such as the use of differently acting antibacterial concepts.

Growing evidence supports formation of dedicated teams in scenarios like cardiogenic shock to improve prognosis. Thus, the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) recommended introduction of Cardiac Arrest Centers (CAC) in their 2015 guidelines.

The study focused on understanding the interaction between bone marrow-derived MSCs (BMSCs) and head and neck cancer (HNC) cells. This interaction was found to activate specific markers, notably the osteogenic marker alkaline phosphatase and the oncogene Runx2.

Materials And Methods: 43 patients received two PCCs (Vita Mark II; Cerec 3D) each for the restoration of extensive lesions with multiple cusp coverage, inserted with a self-adhesive resin cement (RelyX Unicem, RXU). Using a split-mouth design, one PCC received additional selective enamel etching (RXU+E) and one did not (RXU-E).
Confirmation of cannabinoid use by forensic toxicology testing in urine has been traditionally focused on ∆9-tetrahydrocannabinol (∆9-THC) with analysis of its major metabolite, 11-nor-9-carboxy-∆9-THC (∆9-cTHC), in free and conjugated forms. Legalization of hemp, however, has led to the widespread production and sale of cannabidiol (CBD) derivatives with psycho-activity, including ∆8-THC and ∆10-THC isomers. The increasing availability and growing use of isomer derivatives necessitate an expanded scope of cannabinoid confirmation test protocols.

Methods: Analysis of claims data.
Study Population: all women continuously insured with the AOK health insurance fund in the respective observation year (2010-2020) and the previous year.
Objectives: Examination of patients claiming adverse effects from dental materials can be very challenging. Particularly, systemic aspects must be considered besides dental and orofacial diseases and allergies. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate a cohort of 687 patients reporting on adverse effects from dental materials focusing on findings related to known general diseases or conditions or medication-related findings with relevance to their subjective complaints.

Candida species account for approximately 90% of all fungal infections. In vivo biofilm models play a major role to study biofilm development and potential new treatment options; however, there are only a very few in vivo models to study fungi-associated biofilms.

Therefore, preprocedural mouthwashes containing antiseptic agents have been proposed as a potential measure for infection control in dental practice. This review article aims to summarize the clinical (and, if insufficient, preclinical) evidence on preprocedural mouthwashes containing antiseptic agents and to draw conclusions for dental practitioners.

In the case of the infarct-related artery (IRA) as a donor vessel for collaterals to the CTO, the IRA occlusion may lead to an acute threat to both the immediate IRA and the collaterally supplied CTO area, which has been described as a double-jeopardy effect. METHODS AND RESULTS We investigated the role of preformed intercoronary collaterals to the CTO originating from either the IRA or NIRA.

Particularly, the antiseptic cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) has shown virucidal effects against SARS-CoV-2 in vitro. Therefore, the aim of this randomized controlled clinical trial was to investigate the efficacy of a commercially available mouthwash containing CPC and chlorhexidine digluconate (CHX) at 0.

In vitro, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), improved by calibration standards and SiN-window material, enables determining local elemental compositions of inorganic and organic compounds without sample destruction. Six human molars, bovine incisors, murine incisors, and murine molars were analyzed.
