Cosmic Explorer is a next-generation ground-based gravitational-wave observatory that is being designed in the 2020s and is envisioned to begin operations in the 2030s together with the Einstein Telescope in Europe. The Cosmic Explorer concept currently consists of two widely separated L-shaped observatories in the United States, one with 40 km-long arms and the other with 20 km-long arms. This order of magnitude increase in scale with respect to the LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA observatories will, together with technological improvements, deliver an order of magnitude greater astronomical reach, allowing access to gravitational waves from remnants of the first stars and opening a wide discovery aperture to the novel and unknown.

Though undergraduate nursing education is expected to provide introductory knowledge and practice of PHN in Canada, this is not always sufficient to adequately prepare nursing graduates for the complexity of PHN practice. To be practice ready for the full scope of PHN roles and interventions, new baccalaureate nurses and new registered nurses in public health are required to apply PHN competencies, theory, and knowledge of nursing and public health sciences, and to practice within the mandates of provincial and territorial public health legislation.

However, the addition of polymers to the spinning solution makes the process more complex, increases the processing time, and results in porous mechanically weak ceramic fibers. Herein, we develop a coelectrospinning technique, where a nonspinnable sol (<10 mPa s) consisting of only the ceramic precursor(s) and solvent(s) is encapsulated inside a polymeric shell, forming core-shell precursor fibers that are further calcined into ceramic fibers with reduced porosity, decreased surface defects, uniform crystal packing, and controlled diameters.

We use X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy to characterize the elemental composition of PM samples collected from 27 globally distributed sites in the Surface PARTiculate mAtter Network (SPARTAN) over 2019-2023. Consistent protocols are applied to collect all samples and analyze them at one central laboratory, which facilitates comparison across different sites.

Materials And Methods: A mixed-method analysis was conducted at 2 pilot sites. Interviews were conducted with 12 of 27 enrolled patients and with 13 participating clinicians.
Objective: To describe the solutions community health nurses (CHNs) identify to address health inequities during the COVID-19 pandemic and to explore what leadership competencies enable CHNs to enact these solutions.
Design: Online survey, distributed to all members of the Community Health Nurses of Canada and associated provincial and territorial networks.
Participants: Inclusion criteria included all nurses who were working during the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada.
Treosulfan is a structural analog of the alkylating agent busulfan which has been shown in clinical trials to exhibit comparable myeloablative activity while causing fewer serious side effects. Treosulfan is currently being considered for FDA approval in combination with fludarabine, one of the most commonly used myeloablative agents, as a conditioning regimen prior to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Because plasma concentrations of both treosulfan and fludarabine exhibit significant interindividual variability, therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) is indicated to ensure dosages are administered that maximize efficacy while minimizing toxicity.

Source control devices such as ventilated patient isolation hoods have been shown to limit the dissemination of non-infectious airborne particles in laboratory tests, but data on their performance in mitigating the airborne transmission risk of infectious viruses are lacking.

We describe the development of an innovative baccalaureate nursing education strategy for public health nursing.
