Here, we analyze the brain magnetic response in the human visual cortex to show that color selectivity is adaptively set by coarse- and fine-resolving processes running in parallel at different hierarchical levels.

This clinical practice guideline is intended to provide guidance on indications for CRT for HF therapy and CPP in patients with pacemaker indications or HF, patient selection, pre-procedure evaluation and preparation, implant procedure management, follow-up evaluation and optimization of CPP response, and use in pediatric populations. Gaps in knowledge, pointing to new directions for future research, are also identified.

Purpose: To assess the diagnostic value of spectral-detector CT (SDCT) derived virtual non-contrast images (VNC) for differentiation between vascular enhancement and wall calcifications of cystic intracranial tumors in contrast-enhanced stereotactic planning examinations.

Method: 48 patients with cystic intracranial tumors who underwent stereotactic SDCT examinations between 02/2017 and 02/2020 were retrospectively included. In each patient, two separate hyperattenuating structures along the cyst wall were defined as either enhancement or calcification, respectively, using reference MRI examinations.

Paneth cells are antimicrobial peptide-secreting cells located at the base of the crypts of the small intestine. The proteome of Paneth cells is not well defined because of their coexistence with stem cells, making it difficult to culture Paneth cells alone . Using a simplified toluidine blue O method for staining mouse intestinal tissue, laser capture microdissection (LCM) to isolate cells from the crypt region, and surfactant-assisted one-pot protein digestion, we identified more than 1300 proteins from crypts equivalent to 18,000 cells.

Urgent desensitization for severe amiodarone intolerance with a 12-step protocol.

A 68-year-old man with severe nonischemic cardiomyopathy presented with cardiogenic shock and electrical storm. The patient had recently experienced a severe skin reaction to amiodarone and did not respond to alternative antiarrhythmic therapies. He underwent an emergent desensitization protocol and was able to tolerate amiodarone within 12 h.

The novel DERIVO 2heal Embolisation Device (Acandis, Pforzheim, Germany) is a flexible, fully radiopaque flow-diverter with a fibrin-based nano-coating, which is supposed to make the device inert to the coagulation cascade. We report a case of pseudoaneurysm treatment with this device under single anti-platelet therapy (SAPT). A female patient underwent endoscopic surgery for chronic rhinosinusitis.

There are few major adverse events after the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination. However, increasing cases of myocarditis and pericarditis are being reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) in young people, primarily after the second dose of messenger RNA (mRNA) COVID-19 vaccines. We present a case series of myopericarditis post mRNA (Moderna) and myocarditis post vector-based (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccines.
