A boy with typical features of the Aarskog syndrome is presented. The proband's mother, sister and grandmother were short and strongly resembled him.

Mental retardatin and epilepsy, in addition to absence of the septum pellucidum, point to a widespread lesion of the central nervous system. There is unilateral hypoplasia of the optic nerve.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAn analysis of the digito-palmar dermatoglyphs obtained from 231 inhabitants of the Island of Hvar, divided into two groups according to some sociocultural differences, is presented. The quantitative features do not reveal heterogeneity between the groups, while some qualitative palmar dermatoglyphic features are statistically significantly different. The results are discussed in the light of the possible influence of some different evolutionary processes.
