Purpose: The OlympiA randomized phase III trial compared 1 year of olaparib (OL) or placebo (PL) as adjuvant therapy in patients with germline , high-risk human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative early breast cancer after completing (neo)adjuvant chemotherapy ([N]ACT), surgery, and radiotherapy. The patient-reported outcome primary hypothesis was that OL-treated patients may experience greater fatigue during treatment.
Methods: Data were collected before random assignment, and at 6, 12, 18, and 24 months.
Introduction: Children who are HIV-exposed and uninfected (CHEU) are a growing population at potential risk of poor neurocognitive development. We tested a nurturing care intervention on children's neurocognitive development and maternal depressive symptoms (primary) with mediation through caregiving activities (secondary).
Methods: This study was conducted among six intervention and nine comparison antenatal-care/prevention of vertical transmission (ANC/PVT) HIV clinics in eSwatini.
Purpose: This study aims to evaluate quality of life trajectory during the first year after surgical treatment in patients with resectable primary colon cancer.
Methods: Patients with resectable primary colon cancer diagnosed between 2013 and 2019 who received surgical treatment and adjuvant chemotherapy if indicated were selected from the Prospective Dutch ColoRectal Cancer cohort study (PLCRC). Health-related quality of life (HR-QoL) was assessed using EORTC-QLQ-C30 questionnaire before surgery, and three and twelve months after surgery.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate changes in health-related quality of life (HR-QoL) 1 year after surgical treatment in patients with primary resectable colon cancer and to assess whether changes at group level differ from changes at individual level. In addition, we assess which characteristics are associated with a decline of HR-QoL.
Methods: Patients with primary resectable colon cancer who received surgical treatment and adjuvant chemotherapy if indicated were selected from the Prospective Dutch ColoRectal Cancer cohort (PLCRC).
AURORA aims to study the processes of relapse in metastatic breast cancer (MBC) by performing multi-omics profiling on paired primary tumors and early-course metastases. Among 381 patients (primary tumor and metastasis pairs: 252 targeted gene sequencing, 152 RNA sequencing, 67 single nucleotide polymorphism arrays), we found a driver role for and somatic mutations. Metastases were enriched in , and mutations; and amplifications; and deletions.

Community-based death reporting, investigation and review processes are being used in these settings to augment official registration of maternal and child deaths and to identify death-specific factors and associated barriers to maternal and childcare. This study aims to review how community-based maternal and child death reporting, investigation and review processes are carried out in LMICs.

Method: A search of the National Institutes of Health clinical trial registry was performed to identify currently recruiting or completed phase II or III clinical trials started between 2005 and 2020, which addressed chemotherapy or immunotherapy in patients aged > 65 years with the four most common solid malignancies. Trial characteristics and study objectives were extracted from the registry website.
Objective: This study aims to assess age-related treatment patterns and primary reasons for adjusted treatment in patients with colorectal cancer.
Methods: Patients with colorectal cancer stage II or III diagnosed between 2015 and 2018 in the Netherlands were eligible for this study. Data were provided by the Netherlands Cancer Registry and included socio-demographics, clinical characteristics, treatment patterns and primary reasons for adjusted treatment.
Objective: Social support may reduce the amount of psychological distress and increase quality of life. This study assessed whether socio-demographic, personality, and clinical characteristics predict the level of perceived social support in patients with endometrial or ovarian cancer.
Methods: Patients with endometrial or ovarian cancer who participated in the ROGY Care study and completed the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support(MSPSS) 12 months after inclusion were eligible for this study (n=238).
Background: Engaging community health workers in a formalised death review process through verbal and social autopsy has been utilised in different settings to estimate the burden and causes of mortality, where civil registration and vital statistics systems are weak. This method has not been widely adopted. We piloted the use of trained community health workers (CHW) to investigate the extent of unreported maternal and infant deaths in Khayelitsha and explored requirements of such a programme and the role of CHWs in bridging gaps.

Methods: Breast cancer patients aged ≥70 years who completed the G8 frailty screening tool (G8) were included in this retrospective study. Socio-demographic and clinical characteristics were collected, as well as information from geriatric assessment (GA).
Background: Geriatric assessment (GA) is an appropriate method for identifying frailty in older patients with cancer, but a shorter instrument may be easier to use in clinical practice. Clinical judgment is always available and requires no investments in time or resources. The purpose of this study was to assess correlations between clinical judgment for frailty of the cancer specialist, the general practitioner and patient's self-assessment, and the correlation between clinical judgment and GA.

A systematic search in MEDLINE and EMBASE was performed to find studies in which a geriatric assessment was used to detect impaired geriatric domains or to address the association between geriatric assessment and survival or clinical outcome measures. The literature search included 4,629 reports, of which 54 publications from 44 studies were included.

Notwithstanding inconsistencies in the outcomes of CHW programmes, these programmes are known to have a positive effect on retention of mother-baby pairs in HIV-care in sub-Saharan Africa.
Aim: The aim of this analysis was to assess the effect of mothers2mothers (m2m) Ugandan Mentor Mother (MM) programme on the retention of mother-baby pairs in HIV-care.
A 72-year-old man was admitted to hospital because of backache. Physical examination also revealed a genital skin lesion with inguinal lymphadenopathy. Skin biopsy showed an infiltrating adenoma, arising from extramammary Paget disease.

Methods: A systematic search in MEDLINE and EMBASE for studies on the use of the G8 in older patients with cancer.
Results: The literature search identified 8987 reports, of which 54 publications from 46 studies were included (including 18 conference abstracts).
This study evaluated whether one supervised simulated ovariohysterectomy (OVH) using a locally developed canine OVH model, decreased surgical time for final-year veterinary students' first live-animal OVH. We also investigated student perceptions of the model as a teaching aid. Final-year veterinary students were exposed to an OVH model (Group M, = 48) and compared to students without the exposure (Group C, = 58).

Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services particularly benefit from task-shifting to LHWs or similar cadres. However, evidence on the roles and usefulness of LHWs in MCH service delivery in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) is not fully known.

We evaluated the compliance with the recommended schedule, as well as its characteristics. We included all infants born between 2007 and 2012 who received minimally one DTaP-IPV vaccination (n = 1,061,578).

This article will examine a selection of community engagement practices in 3 key areas: (1) as an accountability tool, (2) in service delivery, and (3) as a facilitator of human rights. The lived experiences of women living with HIV as recipients of and participants in services for the prevention of vertical transmission provide both the framework for an exploration of best community engagement practices and suggestions for the way forward.

Objective: To investigate the diagnostic potential of the concentrations of acute-phase proteins serum amyloid A (SAA), haptoglobin (Hp), and fibrinogen in blood and peritoneal fluid (PF) for differentiating horses with inflammatory colic (entero-colitis and peritonitis) from those with surgical colic.
Design: Prospective observational multicenter study.
Setting: Two university referral hospitals.
To gather insight on how Health in All Policies (HiAP) is applied in practice, we carried out a case study on transport policies intended to stimulate a shift from car use to bicycling. We reviewed 3 years (2010, 2011, and 2012) of national budgets and policy documents in the Netherlands, followed by two focus group sessions and a second round of document analysis. We found to our surprise, given the country's history of bicycle promotion, that no HiAP approaches for bicycle promotion remain in place in national transport policies.
