Fruit flesh patterning in accessory fruits such as apple and strawberry has been associated with the SEPALLATA (SEP) class of genes. Antisense suppression of multiple SEP homologs greatly reduced fruit fleshy tissue growth and ripening in strawberries and apple, suggesting a co-evolution of fleshy fruit growth and its ability to ripen.

Patients And Methods: We completed a retrospective cohort analysis of BRPC and LAPC patients at a cancer center with expertise in multi-disciplinary pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) treatment over a 5-year period from 03/01/2014 to 03/01/2019 (cut-off date). The total evaluable newly diagnosed, treatment naïve, BRPC, and LAPC patients with adequate organ function and ability to obtain treatment after multidisciplinary review was 52 patients.

Results: In this study we undertook crosses between epidermal and peridermal skinned kiwifruit, and showed that epidermal skin is a semi-dominant trait.
Yttrium-90 (Y-90) radioembolization for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma can present safety challenges when transplanting recently treated Y-90 patients. To reduce surgeons' contact with radioactive tissue and remain within occupational dose limits, current guidelines recommend delaying transplants at least 14 days, if possible. We wanted to determine the level of radiation exposure to the transplant surgeon when explanting an irradiated liver before the recommended decay period.
