Objectives: We compared the US norm-based two-component vs. Japanese norm-based three-component summary scores of the Medical Outcomes Study Short Form-36 (SF-36) in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
Methods: One hundred fourteen Japanese SLE patients were studied.
Eosinophilic myositis is characterised by peripheral blood eosinophilia and eosinophilic infiltration in muscles, and is comprised three subtypes: focal eosinophilic myositis (FEM), eosinophilic polymyositis, and eosinophilic perimyositis. Muscle involvement of FEM is usually limited to the lower legs, and pulmonary complications have not been reported. We report a rare case of FEM in the left adductor pollicis complicated by lung lesions.

The purpose of this study was to develop a prototype nursing observation support system using integrated nursing practice data with nursing records, prescription data, and nurse call logs. These data show that the present observation system has improved. The system has the potential to provide improved observations of chest symptoms and pain management.

This study estimated end compared the potential toxic effects of the water-soluble fractions (WSF) of biodiesel (B100), diesel and the commercial biodiesel (B5) on Oreochromis niloticus. After a 24 h-exposition to WSF-0% (control) and WSF-serial concentrations of 4.6%, 10%, 22%, 46% and 100%, samples of gill and liver of the exposed fishes were fixed in Bouin's solution, processed, stained using hematoxylin/eosin and analyzed by light-microscopy.
