Proteins interact through their interfaces, and dysfunction of protein-protein interactions (PPIs) has been associated with various diseases. Therefore, investigating the properties of the drug-modulated PPIs and interface-targeting drugs is critical. Here, we present a curated large data set for drug-like molecules in protein interfaces.

Background: The anticoagulation and risk factors in atrial fibrillation (ATRIA) score is associated with adverse cardiovascular events. However, its relationship with coronary thrombus burden is unclear. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the relationship between the ATRIA score and thrombus burden in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

This brings an additional financial burden to the facilities considering the continuous need of these external carbon sources. This paper evaluates the utilization of airport stormwater, which in the winter season is rich in aircraft deicing fluid (ADF) as an alternative external carbon source.

A Biofeedback Based Virtual Reality Game for Pediatric Population (BioVirtualPed): A Feasibility Trial.

Objective: This trial aims to assess the acceptability, feasibility, and safety of BioVirtualPed, a biofeedback-based virtual reality (VR) game designed to reduce pain, anxiety, and fear in children undergoing medical procedures.

Methods: An Oculus Quest 2 headset was used in the VR experience, respiratory data was captured using an ADXL354 accelerometer, and these data were integrated into the game with ArdunioUno software. The sample of this study consisted of 15 pediatric oncology patients aged 6 to 12 years between July and August 2023.

Conformational diversity and protein-protein interfaces in drug repurposing in Ras signaling pathway.

We focus on drug repurposing in the Ras signaling pathway, considering structural similarities of protein-protein interfaces. The interfaces formed by physically interacting proteins are found from PDB if available and via PRISM (PRotein Interaction by Structural Matching) otherwise. The structural coverage of these interactions has been increased from 21 to 92% using PRISM.

Assessment of the relationship between coronary flow rates and myocardial perfusion abnormality in patients with nonobstructive coronary artery disease: an observational study in cardiac syndrome X and coronary slow flow.

Objectives: In this study, we evaluated and compared the level of myocardial ischaemia caused by cardiac syndrome X (CSX) and coronary slow flow (CSF) with single photon emission computed tomography myocardial perfusion imaging (SPECT-MPI), and determined if changes in the level of myocardial ischaemia exist in CSF and CSX cases according to thrombolysis in myocardial infarction frame count (TFC).

Materials And Methods: The study population consisted of 66 patients with CSF and 78 angiographically normal patients (36 of them with CSX and 42 of them healthy controls). The coronary flow rates of all patients were documented using TFC.

Our aim was to evaluate the role of dyssynchrony index (SDI), measured by three-dimensional (3D) echocardiography, in assessment of LVEF and left ventricular volumes accurately in patients with LBBB.

Systemic Thrombolysis Versus Device Exchange for Pump Thrombosis Management: A Single-Center Experience.

In patients with left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implants, pump thrombosis is a potential life-threatening complication. In a retrospective data analysis, we compared clinical outcomes in 50 patients with HeartWare (HW) or HeartMate II implants undergoing device exchange (DEx; n = 21) or systemic thrombolysis (STL; n = 29) for pump thrombosis. Primary end-point was survival up to 90 days postintervention.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of estrus cycles and citalopram on behavior, ultrasonic vocalizations, anxiety levels, and c-fos expression in rats. With this aim, the rats were grouped into two: (1) a control group (n=16) and (2) a citalopram group (n=16), which received daily intraperitoneal 20mg/kg citalopram from baseline (D0) to the 10th day (D10).

Paget-von Schrötter syndrome: upper extremity deep vein thrombosis after heavy exercise.

We present a 52-year-old man with swelling, tightness, heaviness, and redness in the right half of his neck, face, upper arm, and right precordial area after repetitive exercises. No etiological factors such as trauma, venous catheter, malignancy, hematologic disorder history, or any chronic disease were noted. A Doppler ultrasound of the upper extremities was performed, which showed a complete thrombotic occlusion in the right internal jugular vein, partial occlusion in the right brachiocephalic and subclavian veins with thrombosis, and chronic thrombosis occluding the left brachial vein.
