Distribution of Scabies Infestations in Stray Dogs in Bursa Province.

Objective: Scabies infestation is a major parasitic disease affecting both human and animal health worldwide. This study aimed to determine the distribution of scabies infestation in stray dogs in Bursa province.

Methods: The study material was obtained from stray dogs suspected of mange kept in a municipal shelter in Bursa between June 2020 and February 2022.

Neurological Manifestations of Pediatric Acute COVID Infections: A Single Center Experience.

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) usually leads to a mild infectious disease course in children, while serious complications may occur in conjunction with both acute infection and neurological symptoms, which have been predominantly reported in adults. The neurological complications in these patients vary based on patient age and underlying comorbidities. Data on clinical features, particularly neurological features, and prognostic factors in children and adolescents are limited.

Protection with thymoquinone against formaldehyde-induced neurotoxicity in the rats.

Introduction: This study aimed to investigate the neurotoxic damage of formaldehyde (FA), which is commonly used in medicine and industrial fields, for the hippocampus of rats and the protective role of thymoquinone (TQ) against this neurotoxicity.

Cutaneous anthrax involving the genital area.

A 5-year-old girl was admitted with a lesion of the labia majora which was found to be owing to anthrax. She had been licked on the hand by a sick cow (which subsequently died) 5 days prior to admission to a health clinic and 8 days before admission to hospital.

The mechanical properties of intact and traumatized epidural catheters.

Unlabelled: Comparative data on the mechanical properties of epidural catheters used clinically are not available. We performed a controlled laboratory investigation to assess the mechanical performance of three different intact or traumatized catheter types (Polyurethane, clear nylon, and radiopaque nylon catheters, designed for 18-gauge Tuohy needles). We studied a control (intact) and two trauma groups (needle bevel and surgical blade).

A case of acute poisoning due to organophosphate insecticide.

A case of acute severe organophosphate poisoning by deliberate self administration is reported. The patient required intensive therapy for 30 days. Unusual features of the case were the avoidance of atropine, because of the high risk of ventricular fibrillation, and the ineffectiveness of pralidoxime.
