A novel series of nicotinonitrile and pyrazolyl nicotinonitrile were synthesized, and their PIM-1 kinase inhibitors and caspase activators were investigated. New Manich bases 6-8 were synthesized reaction of pyridine 4 with piperidine, dimethyl amine, and morpholine in the presence of formalin. On the other hand, the pyrazolyl analogues 10-12 were synthesized heterocyclization of acetohydrazide derivative 9 with acetylacetone, malononitrile, and ethyl cyanoacetate, respectively, in ethanol.

Selecting the appropriate tractor for small-scale farms is a complex process due to the multitude of technical, environmental, and economic criteria that must be evaluated. This study addresses this challenge by integrating the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) with machine learning (ML) to reduce the number of criteria and simplify the decision-making process. The research aims to determine the most relevant criteria aligned with sustainable development goals for selecting the right tractor, focusing on small farms in the Egyptian Delta.

Direct synthesis and cytotoxicity activity of new series of pyrido[2,3-]pyrimidine was described. Nicotinamide 2 was synthesized cyclization of -cyclohexyl derivative with cyanoacetamide. The -aminonicotinonitrile 2 was subjected to acylation or thio acylation process followed by intramolecular heterocyclization to afford the desired pyrido[2,3-]pyrimidine (3-10) and pyrido triazine 11.

Article Synopsis
  • The study evaluated the impact of biogenic silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) on the growth and leaf anatomy of two olive cultivars, 'Picual' and 'Dolce', grown in vitro.
  • AgNPs, synthesized from Fusarium oxysporum, were confirmed to be crystalline with an average size of 37 nm and were added at concentrations of 0, 10, 20, and 30 mg/L to the olive culture medium.
  • Results showed that 'Picual' had better growth parameters than 'Dolce', with AgNPs at 20 and 30 mg/L enhancing growth for 'Picual', while higher concentrations negatively affected 'Dolce'; the effect of AgNPs on growth was

The use of annular one-dimensional (1D) photonic crystals (PCs) for salinity sensing is studied in this research. Annular 1D-PCs provide small and integrated structures that facilitate the creation of portable and miniaturized sensor equipment appropriate for field use. In order to generate annular 1D-PCs, the research explores the finite element method (FEM) simulation technique utilizing the COMSOL Multiphysics approach, highlighting the significance of exact control over layer thickness and uniformity.

Excessive usage of chemical fertilizers has detrimental effects on the environment and the safety of food. Conversely, utilizing organic fertilizers such as sage offers several advantages, including cost-effectiveness, soil enhancement, and promotion of root development. A two-year field experiment was conducted to investigate the impact of different potassium fertilizer sources and biofertilizers (specifically Bacillus cereus (MBc)) on potato plants.

This paper introduces a novel design of a thin-film solar cell based on CZTS and ZnO composite materials with the help of ITO as the front contact layer. This study primarily focuses on how the cells' optical absorbance at visible wavelengths can be improved. COMSOL Multiphysics is employed as a powerful tool for the investigation of the numerical simulation.

Introduction: Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL) is considered the most common type of hair loss in females. Women with FPHL may suffer from psychological distress and defective social functioning. Patients with psychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders almost have a deficient brain and blood brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels (BDNF).

In this study, the biosensing capabilities of conventional and hybrid multilayer structures were theoretically examined based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR). The transfer matrix method is adopted to obtain the reflectance spectra of the hybrid multilayer structure in the visible region. In this regard, the considered SPR sensor is configured as, [prism (CaF)/AlO/Ag/AlO/2D material/AlO/Sensing medium].

We have designed a unique structure for a liquid sensor based on two-dimensional PCs with a triangular lattice constant in the periodicity by drilling a hexagonal cylinder in a dielectric host material. Using the COMSOL multiphysics approach, we investigated the given structure and sensing performance based on the finite element method. We will optimize two-dimensional hexagonal photonic crystals to localize the photonic band gap region in the mid and far infra-red frequency range, as water is a good absorber for this range of frequencies.

For sustainable water desalination, there is a worldwide push towards solar thermal desalination with the objective to limit the amount of consumed energy in other desalination technologies and maximize the resulting freshwater from saline water. Here, we demonstrate a photonic crystals solar umbrella that covers the saline water surface, demanding to absorb all the incident electromagnetic wave and remit it as greater wavelengths in the range of mid-infrared (MIR) to be highly absorbed and localized close to the water surface. The temperature of the saline water with a refractive index of 1.

Background: Neonatal sepsis is a serious condition. Recent clinical studies have indicated that microRNAs (miRNAs) are key players in the pathogenesis of sepsis, which could be used as biomarkers for this condition.

Patients And Methods: A total of 90 neonates with sepsis and 90 healthy neonates were enrolled in this study.

The aim of the present study was to detect the serum levels of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) growth arrest-specific 5 (GAS5) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and healthy controls, and determine the association between the rs2067079, rs6790, and rs17359906 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of lncRNA GAS5 gene with RA risk in the Egyptian population. Reverse transcription-quantitative PCR and real-time PCR were used to measure the serum levels of lncRNA GAS5 and genotype the two distinct alleles at the SNP sites of lncRNA GAS5 gene in 200 patients with RA and 150 controls. The mean serum levels of lncRNA GAS5 were significantly lower in the patients with RA compared with the controls (P<0.

Estrone, 17β-estradiol, and testosterone are naturally occurring hormones excreted in broiler litter. With some potential for environmental concern from the hormones, understanding management practices effect on hormone concentrations is beneficial for the poultry industry. As the amount of hormones potentially introduced into the environment is directly related to the concentration at the time of land application, the purpose of this study was to investigate hormone dynamics in stacked broiler litter during the storage period before removal from the farm and/or land application.
