Introduction: Through interviews with 148 older persons from four countries and in four languages, the content for a 17-item measure of active living was developed. The purpose of this paper is to present further evidence of the extent to which this new measure, Older Persons Active Living (OPAL), is "fit-for-purpose" for measuring the extent of active living at one point in time.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out on a population aged 65 + and living independently, drawn from a participant panel, HostedinCanada, sampling people from Canada, United States, United Kingdom, and Netherlands.
Introduction: Remote digital assessments (RDAs) such as voice recording, video and motor sensors, olfactory, hearing, and vision screenings are now starting to be employed to complement classical biomarker and clinical evidence to identify patients in the early AD stages. Choosing which RDA can be proposed to individual patients is not trivial and often time-consuming. This position paper presents a decision-making algorithm for using RDA during teleconsultations in memory clinic settings.

In the present paper, we aimed to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of teleconsultations for mental health compared to face-to-face consultations, and to provide recommendations in this domain.
Methods: The recommendations were gathered using a Delphi methodology.
Introduction: The risk of developing Alzheimer's disease (AD) in older adults increasingly is being discussed in the literature on Post-Acute COVID-19 Syndrome (PACS). Remote digital Assessments for Preclinical AD (RAPAs) are becoming more important in screening for early AD, and should always be available for PACS patients, especially for patients at risk of AD. This systematic review examines the potential for using RAPA to identify impairments in PACS patients, scrutinizes the supporting evidence, and describes the recommendations of experts regarding their use.

The use of Internet Communication and Technologies (ICTs) among older adults is steadily increasing and given ICTs provide a means of enhancing social connectedness suggests they may have positive effects on reducing loneliness. Therefore, the aim of this scoping review was to examine the research that explores how ICTs may be implicated in mitigating loneliness and increasing social connectedness among older adults.

The community engagement model evolved as both synthesis and dissemination were co-created with participants. Indigenous community members alongside researchers and Elders explored health literacy in an effort to illuminate root causes of the social determinants of health (SDoH) and to build community capacity.

The risks of ageist stereotypes emerging from how we communicate in both discourses are long known. This raises questions about whether using specific age criteria in the context of "aging deficits" can bias participation in, or compliance with, the research process by older adults who try to avoid age-related stigma.

Over the course of the 2019 coronavirus pandemic, many older adults suffered as a result of confinement measures, which may have accelerated the processes that lead to physical frailty and increased mental health risks. This study aims to examine whether a 3-month cycle of weekly virtual tours of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) may have improved feelings of social inclusion, wellbeing and quality of life, and reduced physical frailty in older adults living within the community of Montreal.

This scoring provides a prognostic tool that assists in disposition planning. The use of a truncated HEART score, minus the troponin data (HEAR score), was used for patients presenting with chest pain at one of four outpost nursing stations served by La Ronge Health Centre in northern Saskatchewan.

Over 20 international researchers in the field of ageing have contributed to this document. This commentary discusses how older people are misrepresented and undervalued in the current public discourse surrounding the pandemic.

This lack of experience could cause stress and thus impede participants' motivations to adopt these technologies.
Objective: This crossover longitudinal multifactorial study aimed to examine the interactions between game difficulty, appraisal, cognitive ability, and physiological and cognitive responses that indicate game stress using the Affective Game Planning for Health Applications framework.
Background And Purpose: Adequate cycloplegia and dilation are required for refraction and fundus exam in children. Standard practice is to instill cycloplegic drops in the inferior cul-de-sac, and this is often traumatic for children. Our study assesses the use of cyclopentolate on closed lids as a method of instillation for ensuring complete cycloplegia.

Seven patients had diabetes mellitus, 5 had nutritional abnormalities, 2 had associated rheumatological illnesses, 2 had sepsis with multiorgan failure, and 1 had a history of malignancy. Electrophysiologic testing demonstrated mononeuritis multiplex in 7, demyelinating neuropathy in 4, distal sensory and motor neuropathy in 1, and polyradiculoneuropathy in 1.

When performed, the short Folstein Mini-Mental State Exam (MMSE) is typically used. The authors' research on 45 neuropsychiatric patients compared the MMSE with a new 20-30-minute bedside examination, the Screening Cerebral Assessment of Neppe (BROCAS SCAN).
