Methods: Retrospective record review of all patients who underwent hysterectomy for benign and malignant conditions from January 2017 to December 2022.
Background: This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between the presence of hairy tongue and infection in patients referring to their blood test based on the serum levels of anti- IgG antibodies.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in the Department of Oral Medicine, University of Damascus Dental School, between February 2021 and January 2022. The sample size of 40 patients (23 males, 17 females), whose ages ranged from 20-79 years with a mean age of 41.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFImmediate vaginal reconstruction is usually offered following pelvic exenteration for recurrent cervical cancer in women previously treated with radiotherapy or with severe radiation-induced fistulae. Introduction of muscle-sparing flaps, such as the pedicled vertical deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap, provides viable tissues for vaginal reconstruction and is associated with reduced donor-site morbidity. This report describes the surgical technique, which is one of the procedures of choice for vaginal reconstruction.

The authors describe a case with androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) who underwent the laparoscopic Vecchietti procedure for creation of a neovagina. Postoperatively, the patient achieved anatomic success, with a vaginal length of about eight cm, and she was advised to use vaginal dilators after discharge. The patient reported improved sexual function, but presented about six months later for shortening of her vagina and difficult vaginal intercourse.

Aim: The purpose of this study was the early detection of premalignant and malignant oral soft lesions by fluorescent light (VELscope).
Materials And Methods: A total of 748 patients were evaluated through clinical and fluorescent light analysis of the entire oral cavity. Any lesion that was detected underwent a surgical excision biopsy as the golden standard for the detection of the lesion's histology; then a comparison was made between the results to assure the efficacy of the fluorescent light analysis outcome.
This study was aimed to assess age changes in quantitative ultrasonometry (QUS) of the phalanx in a sample of Lebanese women to determine a reference data for the Lebanese population. Velocity of ultrasound (amplitude-dependent speed of sound; AD-SOS) and the interpretation of the ultra sound signal (ultrasound bone profile index; UBPI) were measured in 211 women with a mean age of 50 years (range 20-79 years) using a DBM sonic Bone profiler device. Women were randomly selected and asked to participate in a nation-wide screening program.
