This shift emphasizes the immediate need for Japanese nurses who are both clinically proficient and culturally attuned.

Methods: We employed a descriptive cross-sectional design and collected data using a self-reported questionnaire. Participants were 144 Japanese midwives working in hospitals.

Methods: In January 2021, data were collected from 101 hospitals and 706 HCWs who had COVID-19 in Myanmar in 2020.

Introduction: Children from low-income (LI) families often suffer from poor health, with sub-optimal health practices. This cross-sectional study examined the differences in health habits and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) of LI preschool children compared to non-low-income preschool peers (PPG).

Method: Using data from the social-health Circle of Care-Health Development Screening Programme (CoC-HDSP) in Singapore, 118 LI children and 304 PPG children aged 18 months to 6 years old and their families were recruited from 13 government-funded preschools.

This cross-sectional study aimed to assess Quality of life (QoL) of parents of children on the autism spectrum in Singapore and identify its associated factors. Parents of children (age ≥ 5 years) completed the Quality of Life in Autism scale which measures parental self-rated QoL (higher scores denote greater QoL), and the perceived impact of the child's autism-related behaviors on parents (higher scores denote lesser impact). Information on the child's degree of autism (measured by the Social Responsiveness Scale, second edition [SRS-2]), community and social participation and cognitive and adaptive functioning were also obtained.

The treatment of chronic Achilles tendinopathy (CAT) remains challenging. We report three cases of CAT treated with autologous peripheral blood stem cells (PBSCs), following principles developed for chondrogenesis of the knee joint. Outcome measurement with a minimum of one and a half years follow-up showed significant improvement of Victorian Institute of Sport Assessment-Achilles questionnaire (VISA-A) scores, with reduction of tendon thickness and inflammation on MRI scan.

The identification of semen during a criminal investigation may be a critical component in the prosecution of a sexual assault. Commonly employed enzymatic and affinity-based methods for detection lack specificity, are time-consuming, and only provide a presumptive indication that semen is present where microscopic visualization is unable to meet the throughput demands. Contrary to traditional approaches, protein mass spectrometry provides true confirmatory results, but multiday sample preparation and nanoflow sample separation requirements have limited the practical applicability of these approaches.

Factors associated with severe dengue in Savannakhet Province, Lao People's Democratic Republic.

This study aimed to describe the socio-demographic and clinical characteristics of dengue inpatients at a provincial hospital, and to identify factors associated with severe dengue. This is a retrospective study involving 402 dengue patients admitted to the Savannakhet Provincial Hospital, Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), between January 2018 and April 2019. Socio-demographic factors, clinical signs and laboratory data on admission, final diagnosis, use of health care services before admission, admission date, and hospitalization period were collected from patient records.

Background: Worldwide, social media traffic increased following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although the spread of COVID-19 content has been described for several social media platforms (eg, Twitter and Facebook), little is known about how such content is spread via private messaging platforms, such as WhatsApp (WhatsApp LLC).

Objective: In this study, we documented (1) how WhatsApp is used to transmit COVID-19 content, (2) the characteristics of WhatsApp users based on their usage patterns, and (3) how usage patterns link to COVID-19 concerns.

Concurrent COVID-19 and dengue with hyperferritinaemia: A case report.

The current pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID- 19) poses a bigger challenge to the population in tropical countries where dengue fever is also endemic as both diseases share similar clinical and laboratory features. In COVID-19, hyperferritinaemia is associated with severe disease and clinical outcome while in dengue fever, hyperferritinaemia is a key feature of haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), which is a complication with high mortality. In this case report, we present a case of coinfection of COVID-19 and dengue with hyperferritinaemia in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Sabah, Malaysia.

Confidence in government and rumors amongst migrant worker men involved in dormitory outbreaks of COVID-19: A cross-sectional survey.

Introduction: Worldwide, COVID-19 clusters have emerged within communities of international migrant workers operating in high-density work and living environments. Despite their increased vulnerability, no study has documented the mental health burden of COVID-19 amongst these groups. To address this gap, we conducted a survey of migrant workers involved in large-scale dormitory outbreaks within Singapore.

Providing elderly mental healthcare in Myanmar is challenging due to the growing elderly population and limited health resources. To understand common mental health problems among Myanmar elderly, this study explored the prevalence and risk factors of anxiety and depression among the elderly in the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, Myanmar. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 655 elderly by face-to-face interviews with a pretested questionnaire.

Vulnerability to rumours during the COVID-19 pandemic in Singapore.

Introduction: Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, many rumours have emerged. Given prior research linking rumour exposure to mental well-being, we conducted a nationwide survey to document the base rate of rumour exposure and factors associated with rumour vulnerability.

Factors associated with neonatal mortality in a tertiary hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

This study aimed to identify hospital neonatal mortality rate (NMR) and the causes of neonatal deaths, and to understand risk factors associated with neonatal mortality in a national tertiary hospital in Cambodia. The study included all newborn infants, aged 0-28 days old, hospitalized in the Pediatrics department of Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital between January 2016 and December 2017. In total, 925 infants were included in the study.
