[Therapeutic education and chronic pain : a practical guide].

The doctor-patient relationship is changing directions in current medical practice, towards greater involvement of the latter. Pain neuroscience education (PNE) must play an important role in the treatment of chronic pain. Despite the complexity of studies, the effectiveness of PNE is proven, especially when integrated into interdisciplinary programs.

Background: Ivosidenib is primarily metabolized by CYP3A4; however, it induces CYP450 isozymes, including CYP3A4 and CYP2C9, whereas it inhibits drug transporters, including P-glycoprotein. Patients with acute myeloid leukemia are at risk of invasive fungal infections, and therefore posaconazole and voriconazole are commonly used in this population. Voriconazole is a substrate of CYP2C9, CYP2C19, and CYP3A4; therefore, concomitant ivosidenib may result in decreased serum concentrations.

Background: The combination of low-intensity chemotherapy and inotuzumab ozogamicin (INO), with sequential blinatumomab, is highly effective in older adults with newly diagnosed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and in relapsed or refractory B-cell ALL. Earlier, "dose-dense" administration of blinatumomab could lead to earlier and deeper measurable residual disease (MRD) responses and better outcomes.

Incidence of adverse effects in patients receiving ponatinib with concomitant azole antifungals.

Ponatinib plus Hyper-CVAD yields a five-year overall survival of 73% in patients with Philadelphia-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Ponatinib dose intensity is associated with increased incidence of adverse effects (AEs), including vascular events. Ponatinib combined with azole antifungals may further increase the risk of AEs due to increased ponatinib exposure.

Background: Venetoclax (VEN) combined with the hypomethylating agent (HMA) azacitidine improves survival in patients aged ≥75 years with newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Explicit racial bias has decreased in the United States, but racial stereotypes still exist and conspire in multiple ways to perpetuate the underparticipation of Blacks in science careers. Capitalizing on the potential effectiveness of role-playing video games to promote the type of active learning required to increase awareness of and reduce subtle racial bias, we developed the video game Fair Play, in which players take on the role of Jamal, a Black male graduate student in science, who experiences discrimination in his PhD program. The authors reviewed various components and procedures of this approach and discussed some practical aspects of its application using an example of a study evaluating a presentation on menopausal care for primary care physicians. The CTC approach is a valuable evaluation tool, but it requires supplementation with other data to have a complete picture of the impact of education on practice.
