- Healthcare Workers (HCWs) in Cambodia are at risk for hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, yet vaccination rates are low, prompting a study to assess their knowledge of HBV and HepB vaccinations, as well as their vaccination status.
- A survey of 261 HCWs revealed that 62.9% had good knowledge of HBV, and 59.8% had received the HepB vaccine; factors influencing vaccination included the type of health facility and knowledge level about HBV.
- Barriers to vaccination included high costs, belief that workplace vaccines were not for adults, and insufficient education on adult HepB vaccination.
