Prevalence and outcomes of arthritis in pediatric IBD: A multicenter study from the Italian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition.

Background And Aims: The aim of the present study was to assess prevalence and disease outcomes of arthritis in a nationwide cohort of pediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Methods: We collected data of pediatric IBD patients experiencing arthritis from the Italian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition IBD registry. We gathered baseline and one-year follow-up data on concomitant IBD and arthritis diagnosis.

A real-life pediatric experience of Crohn's disease exclusion diet at disease onset and in refractory patients.

Objectives: We aimed to appraise the real-life efficacy of Crohn's disease exclusion diet (CDED) coupled with partial enteral nutrition (PEN) in inducing clinical and biochemical remission at disease onset and in patients with loss of response to biologics and immunomodulators.

Methods: We retrospectively gathered data of patients aged less than 18 years of age with a diagnosis of Crohn's disease (CD), who received CDED coupled with PEN at a tertiary level pediatric inflammatory bowel disease center.

Results: Sixty-six patients were identified.

Inter-hospital cardiorespiratory telemonitoring of newborns and infants: a wellworking example of a hub and spoke network.

Background: Patients who experience cardiorespiratory events usually have to be moved to specialized centers to perform cardiorespiratory studies. To avoid the transfer of these patients to specialized centers, a network has been created based on an interchange system, where the recordings were uploaded in unspecialized centers (spokes) and downloaded by the Sleep Disorders Breathing (SDB) Center (hub) to be analyzed.

Methods: The inter-hospital network was established in November 2008.
