Spontaneous intracerebral pseudoaneurysm rupture and meningiomatosis: A case report and review of the literature.

Background: We report the first case of a spontaneous ruptured anterior cerebral artery pseudoaneurysm in a patient affected by meningiomatosis.

Case Description: A 71-year-old female patient was admitted to our emergency department after acute loss of consciousness. An urgent head CT scan showed third ventricle hemorrhage and a giant extra-axial tumor with associated peritumoral bleeding.

Navigated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Motor Mapping Usefulness in the Surgical Management of Patients Affected by Brain Tumors in Eloquent Areas: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

The surgical strategy for brain glioma has changed, shifting from tumor debulking to a more careful tumor dissection with the aim of a gross-total resection, extended beyond the contrast-enhancement MRI, including the hyperintensity on FLAIR MR images and defined as supratotal resection. It is possible to pursue this goal thanks to the refinement of several technological tools for pre and intraoperative planning including intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM), cortico-subcortical mapping, functional MRI (fMRI), navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation (nTMS), intraoperative CT or MRI (iCT, iMR), and intraoperative contrast-enhanced ultrasound. This systematic review provides an overview of the state of the art techniques in the application of nTMS and nTMS-based DTI-FT during brain tumor surgery.

Minimally invasive percutaneous anterior odontoid screw fixation: institutional experience with a simple and effective technique.

Background: The aim of this paper was to show a novel modified technique to perform minimally invasive anterior odontoid screw fixation.

Methods: Twenty-nine patients with a mean age of 45 years were treated with a modified percutaneous anterior odontoid screw fixation. All patients were affected by type II or rostral shallow type III odontoid fractures.

Spontaneous Subgaleal Abscess Associated with Lung Adenocarcinoma: First Description of This Unusual Association.

Background: Primary, spontaneous, or de novo subgaleal abscesses represent extremely rare lesions usually related to patients with risk factors and predisposing conditions for infections. They are associated with high morbidity, and a proper diagnosis can be misleading. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of a de novo subgaleal abscess not related to previous traumatic head injury and associated with lung adenocarcinoma.
