EEG before chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy and early after onset of immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome.

Background: Immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) is common after chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the impact of preinfusion electroencephalography (EEG) abnormalities and EEG findings at ICANS onset for predicting ICANS risk and severity in 56 adult patients with refractory lymphoma undergoing CAR-T therapy.

Study Design: EEGs were conducted at the time of lymphodepleting chemotherapy and shortly after onset of ICANS.

Introduction: The procedure of nasotracheal intubation (NI) has long been performed utilizing the Magill forceps as developed by Sir Ivan Magill in the 1920s. While used for nearly a century, several serious patient safety concerns remain including torn tube cuffs, vocal cord trauma, and inefficient tube placement. The Tylke forceps have been developed as a modification to the largely unchanged form of Magill forceps.

SARS-CoV-2-reactive antibody detection after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination in hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients: Prospective survey from the Spanish Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cell Therapy Group.

This is a multicenter prospective observational study that included a large cohort (n = 397) of allogeneic (allo-HSCT; (n = 311) and autologous (ASCT) hematopoietic stem cell transplant (n = 86) recipients who were monitored for antibody detection within 3-6 weeks after complete severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccination from February 1, 2021, to July 20, 2021. Most patients (n = 387, 97.4%) received mRNA-based vaccines.

CAR-T therapy in solid transplant recipients with post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease: case report and literature review.

Patients with postransplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD) who are refractory to rituximab-based regimens have extremely poor prognosis. Data is lacking in the setting of solid organ transplantation (SOT)-related PTLD treated with chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy. Moreover, limited information is available on the influence of concomitant immunosuppressive drugs on CAR-T function.

[Synthesis of radioactively labelled tinofedrine (author's transl)].

The tritiation of (+)-(R)-alpha-((S)-1-[(3,3-di-3-thienylallyl)amino]-ethyl)-benzylalcohol (tinofedrine) is reported. The introduction of tritium was effected by partial hydrogenation of propiolic acid ester to the corresponding tritiated acrylic ester.

[Synthesis of radioactively labelled reproterol hydrochloride (author's transl)].

Synthesis of radioactively labelled 7-(3-[2-(3,5-dihydroxy-phenyl)-2-hydroxy-ethylamino]-propyl)-theophylline (reproterol) as needed for pharmacokinetic examinations, is described. The 14C-malonic diethyl ester was proven to be the suitable starting compound. The synthesis of the tritium-labelled reproterol is briefly described.
