Acute toxicity of ibogaine and noribogaine.

Objective: To evaluate acute toxic effect of ibogaine and noribogaine on the survival of mice and determine median lethal doses of the substances mentioned.

Material And Methods: White laboratory mice were used for the experiments. Ibogaine and noribogaine were administered intragastrically to mice via a stomach tube.

Study of diversity of anthocyanin composition in bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) fruits.

Qualitative and quantitative composition of anthocyanins in bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus L.) fruits was assayed. The aim of our study was to evaluate total anthocyanin content and their composition in bilberries collected from various regions and at different time.

[Ibogaine--the substance for treatment of toxicomania. Neurochemical and pharmacological action].

The review of scientific literature, concerning the indol alkaloid Ibogaine, which is extracted from the bush Tabernanthe Iboga, is presented in this article. Used as a stimulating factor for hundred of years in non-traditional medicine, this alkaloid could be important for modern pharmacology because of potential anti-addictive properties. The mechanism of action of this alkaloid is closely related to different neurotransmitting systems.

[Polyphenols and anthocyanins in fruits, grapes juices and wines, and evaluation of their antioxidant activity].

The objective of this study was to produce grape (Vitis vinifera L.) extracts using efficient solvents and to compare antioxidant activity, polyphenol and anthocyanin content and composition in the produced extracts to the same characteristics of grape juices and wines. Methanolic and aqueous extracts of red and blue grapes were produced.

[Research of the amounts of flavonoids accumulated in the crude drug of single-styled hawthorn].

Unlabelled: Leaves, flowers and fruits of single-styled hawthorn are used for production of pharmaceuticals with cardiotonic, coronary vasodilatoric and hypotensive action. Amount of flavonoids accumulated in crude drug of hawthorn is a parameter of quality.

Objective: To establish the difference in amounts of flavonoids accumulated in the crude drug of single-styled hawthorn.

[Analysis of psychotropic drug mixtures using high-pressure liquid chromatography in acute poisoning cases].

The qualitative and quantitative method of determination of amitryptilin, codeine and fluoxetine in the mixture using high-pressure liquid chromatography is described in this paper. Chromatogram is presented which shows, that preparations are fully separated and do not interfere each others analysis. Tables with chromatographical separation characteristics are also presented.
