Background: Contemporary evidence has been established demonstrating that stunted vitamin D levels are associated with depression, poor mood, and other mental disorders. Individuals with normal vitamin D levels have a much lower probability of developing depression. Improving vitamin D levels by supplementation has shown betterment in depressive patients among different age groups.

The study was started with objectives to find out the vaccine hesitancy towards the COVID vaccine and to find out the factors associated with vaccine hesitancy among FLHCW working in a designated COVID care center.
Materials And Methods: The present study was a cross-sectional study carried out for a period of 6 months from Jan 2021 to June 2021 at a designated COVID care center.
Background: Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental disorder that may develop after exposure to exceptionally life threatening or horrifying events. People suffering from PTSD are vulnerable for both physical and mental health.
Objectives: To find out sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), and to plot receiver operating characteristic curve taking Mini International Neuropsychiatry Interview-Kid (MINIKID) as the gold standard and Child PTSD Symptom Scale 5I (CPSS-5I) as the newer diagnostic tool for diagnosing PTSD.

Several biomarkers involved in oxidative stress may influence polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Superoxide dismutase (SOD) has been commonly identified as dismutase enzyme catalyzes the conversion of superoxide to hydrogen peroxide and elemental oxygen, and could serve as an important biomarker in this direction. The objective of the present study to determine the precise role of SOD levels in women with PCOS using a meta-analysis approach.

Genetic progress measured through changes in yield performance over time is important in determining the efficiency of breeding programmes in which test cultivars are replaced each year on the assumption that the new cultivars will surpass the older cultivars. The goal of our study was to determine the annual rate of genetic gain for rice grain yield in a drought-prone rainfed system in a series of multi-environment trials conducted from 2005 to 2014 under the Drought Breeding Network of Indian sites in collaboration with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI).

Background: The rate of readmission to the hospital and mortality within 3 months is used as a quality measure for hospitalized patients with advanced liver disease; however, the topic has not been studied adequately under Indian context.
Materials And Methods: This study was a longitudinal study conducted from March 2017 to March 2018. Patients admitted with liver cirrhosis at inpatient hepatology service in Tertiary Health Care Centre, Mysore, India, were included for the study.
Background: Electronic health records (EHR) with computerized physician order entry have become exceedingly common and government incentives have urged implementation. The purpose of this study was to ascertain the effect of EHR implementation on medical intensive care unit (MICU) mortality, length of stay (LOS), hospital LOS and medication errors.
Materials And Methods: Prospective, observational study from July 2010-June 2011 in MICU at an urban teaching hospital in Atlanta, Georgia of 797 patients admitted to the MICU; 281 patients before the EHR implementation and 516 patients post-EHR implementation.
Introduction: The handgrip strength and endurance have evolved as an important tool for the assessment of the nutritional status and as a marker of the muscle quality. In underweight as well as overweight individuals, there is the possibility of a change in the muscle quality. So, we undertook this study to find out the correlation between the BMI, the Body Fat percentage and the Hand grip strength and endurance.

There are biological differences between early-onset and late-onset cGVHD. To test whether different Th1/Th2 cytokines are associated with early- or late-onset cGVHD, peripheral blood was collected from 63 children enrolled on the Children's Oncology Group Phase III trial ASCT0031 evaluating hydroxychloroquine therapy for newly diagnosed extensive cGVHD.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and opioids are the most commonly used analgesics in the management of acute and chronic pain. Combined use of NSAIDs and opioids has been indicated for achieving better analgesia with reduced side effects. The present study was aimed at evaluating the combination of different NSAIDs, which inhibit cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes and tramadol against acetic acid-induced writhing in mice.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLipopolysaccharide (LPS) is known to increase the expression and release of various pro-inflammatory mediators, including cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and produce hyperalgesia. It is also well known that prostaglandins (PGs), synthesised both in the periphery and centrally by COX isoforms, play a key role in sensitisation of nociceptors and nociceptive processing. To investigate the role of COX-2 in LPS-induced hyperalgesia, parecoxib, a selective COX-2-inhibiting pro-drug, was injected intravenously 30 min before assessing hyperalgesia induced by intraperitoneal or subcutaneous administration of LPS (50 microg/mouse or 25 microg/paw of rat, respectively).

Nephrotoxicity is the most common and clinically important side effect of cyclosporine (CsA). Recent evidence suggests that reactive oxygen species (ROS) play an important role in CsA nephrotoxicity. This study was designed to demonstrate the role of oxidative stress and its relation to renal dysfunction and to investigate the effects of quercetin, a bioflavonoid with antioxidant properties, in CsA-induced nephrotoxicity.
