Cytotoxic effect of indigenously fabricated dental magnets for application in prosthodontics.

Context: Dental magnets are used for retaining removable prostheses such as a removable partial denture, complete denture, and maxillofacial prosthesis. They provide good retention for the prostheses. However, the elements released from the magnets may be cytotoxic for the tissues.

Rehabilitation of orbital defect with silicone orbital prosthesis retained by dental implants.

Orbital defects can result from cancer, birth anomalies, or trauma leading to an onslaught of problems in the function and psyche of the patient. These defects are restored by surgical reconstruction and followed by placement of orbital prosthesis for cosmetic makeup. The use of dental implants in retaining orbital prosthesis improves patient acceptance of the prosthesis owing to better retention and stability than conventional adhesive retained prosthesis.

Magnet and Semi Precision Attachment in an Implant Retained Partial Denture for the Rehabilitation of an Irradiated Marginal Mandibulectomy Patient: A Case Report.

Surgical treatment of malignancies in the oral cavity (mandible, tongue, floor of the mouth, alveolus, buccal sulcus) often results in an unfavourable anatomic condition for prosthodontic rehabilitation. Hence, maxillofacial prosthetic rehabilitation becomes a mightier task when resection is accompanied by radiation therapy. In selected cases, implant therapy comes to rescue.

Prosthetic rehabilitation of hypophosphatasia with precision attachment retained unconventional partial denture: a case report.

Deficiency of the alkaline phosphatase isoenzyme can lead to a rare hereditary disorder called Hypophosphatasia. It is characterized by defective mineralization of the skeletal and dental structures of the body. Hypophophatasia is classified into six clinical forms namely, perinatal lethal, perinatal benign, infantile, childhood, adult and odontohypophosphatasia.

Evaluation of bonding efficiency between facial silicone and acrylic resin using different bonding agents and surface alterations.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of 3 silicone primers and 3 surface characterization of acrylic resin surface on bond strength between silicone elastomer and acrylic resin.

Materials And Methods: 96 Cosmesil silicones bonded to heat-curing acrylic resin were fabricated with the dimension of 75 × 10 × 3 mm. The 3 primers used in this study were G611 platinum primer, A-330 Gold platinum primer, and cyanoacrylates resin.
