Weighted aggregation through probability based ranking: An optimized federated learning architecture to classify respiratory diseases.

Background and Objective Respiratory Diseases are one of the leading chronic illnesses in the world according to the reports by World Health Organization. Diagnosing these respiratory diseases is done through auscultation where a medical professional listens to sounds of air in the lungs for anomalies through a stethoscope. This method necessitates extensive experience and can also be misinterpreted by the medical professional.

Molecular Epidemiological Surveillance of CTX-M-15-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae from the patients of a teaching hospital in Sindh, Pakistan.

Background  The presence of Extended-spectrum β-lactamase positive bacteria in hospital setting is an aggravating influential factor for hospitalized patients, and its consequences may be hazardous. Therefore, there is a need for rapid detection methods for newly emerging drug-resistant bacteria. This study was aimed at the molecular characterization of Extended-spectrum β-lactamase -positive  isolates recovered from the patients of a teaching hospital in Sindh, Pakistan.

Cardiac Abnormalities Seen in Pediatric Patients During the SARS-CoV2 Pandemic: An International Experience.

Background During the SARS-CoV2 pandemic, there has been increase in hyperinflammatory presentation in previously healthy children with a variety of cardiac manifestations. Our objective is to describe the cardiac manifestations found in an international cohort of 55 pediatric cases with multi-system inflammatory syndrome (MIS-C) during the SARS-CoV2 pandemic. Methods and Results We reviewed data on previously healthy pediatric patients (≤18 years) with structurally normal hearts who presented at hospitals in the United States, United Kingdom, Spain and Pakistan with MIS-C and had consultation with a pediatric cardiologist.

Infection in Transfusion Dependent Thalassemia Patients with Sepsis.

Purpose: To identify the infection among transfusion dependent thalassemia patients.

Methods: A quantitative approach was employed to assess infection in transfusion dependent thalassemia patients. Samples were collected from 916 patients, which have shown bacterial growth on MacConkey and blood agar culture media.

Multiple autoimmune syndrome: Hashimoto's thyroiditis, coeliac disease and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Various autoimmune diseases have association with each other but it is very rare to see multiple autoimmune diseases in one patient. Presence of more than two autoimmune diseases in one patient is known as multiple autoimmune syndrome (MAS). We report the case of an 11 years old girl who presented with history of swelling in front of the neck along with constipation, anorexia, weight gain and increasing pallor over a period of six months.
