Purpose: To investigate the change in serum albumin levels and hepatic reserve scores before and after portal vein stent placement (PVS) for post-surgical portal vein stenosis.
Material And Methods: A retrospective cohort of patients undergoing PVS after abdominal surgery between 2007 and 2021 was analyzed. Patients' age, sex, and PVS technical success (defined by portal vein patency at final portography) were evaluated.
Urgent revascularization should be performed to patients with acute limb ischemia (ALI) unless the ischemia is irreversible. In patients with severe ALI and multiple morbidities, surgical revascularization is not feasible; however, endovascular revascularization (EVR) may be an option. This study aimed to examine 1-year clinical outcomes of EVR in patients with ALI and determine prognostic factors.

We comprehensively examined and analyzed systematic reviews (SRs) of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating rehabilitative interventions with robotic devices. Four databases were searched using term combinations of keywords related to robotic devices, rehabilitation, and SRs.

At our institution, a multidisciplinary perioperative care team called "Surgical, Nutrition and Rehabilitation Integrated Services for Excellence Team (SUNRISE)" was established for all patients with gastrointestinal cancer undergoing surgery. This study aimed to elucidate the significance of SUNRISE as a perioperative MDT by comparing short-term postoperative outcomes before and after the introduction of SUNRISE in patients with colorectal cancer.

Methods We included 68 patients diagnosed with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) who underwent radical surgery. The %WL value was calculated based on the percentage of body weight at discharge compared with the body weight at admission.

Although device failure rarely occurs, if the collagen falls into the femoral artery, it may lead to severe limb ischemia. Herein, we describe a case of a novel endovascular technique for the treatment of Angio-Seal arterial closure device failure.

Methods: This multicenter retrospective study included patients with PPC treated at 78 high-volume centers between January 2012 and December 2020. Prognoses after resection (S-group) and initiation of nonsurgical treatment (N-group) were compared.
Objective: To demonstrate the long-term efficacy of repeated botulinum toxin A injections into the same muscles for ameliorating lower limb spasticity and gait function.
Design: Single-case study.
Patient: A 36-year-old woman with right cerebral haemorrhage received her first botulinum toxin A injection 1,296 days after onset.

Background: Nivolumab with chemotherapy has been transformative for metastatic gastric cancer (GC). The potential of this regimen for local tumor control could be utilized for perioperative chemotherapy in locally advanced GC with bulky tumors or lymph node metastasis involving other organs.
Case Presentation: Five patients with HER2-negative advanced GC were treated with nivolumab and oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy.
BACKGROUND Reversed intestinal malrotation is an extremely rare disease, with an incidence of 1 in 250 000. In Japan, application of robotic-assisted colorectal cancer surgery is expected to increase. There are no reports of robot-assisted surgery for cecal cancer with reversed intestinal malrotation.

This study aims to distinguish these characteristics and clarify the effects of the observation rules on NELMs.
Methods: Clinical data were separately collected from patients with pancreatic and rectal NELMs at medical centers in both Japan and China.
Toca 511, a tumor-selective retroviral replicating vector encoding the yeast cytosine deaminase (yCD) gene, exerts direct antitumor effects through intratumoral prodrug 5-fluorocytosine (5-FC) conversion to active drug 5-fluorouracil by yCD, and has demonstrated therapeutic efficacy in preclinical and clinical trials of various cancers. Toca 511/5-FC treatment may also induce antitumor immunity. Here, we first examined antitumor immune responses activated by Toca 511/5-FC treatment in an immunocompetent murine pancreatic cancer model.

At the time, she underwent preoperative chemotherapy followed by Bp+Ax and postoperative radiotherapy to the conserved breast. She also received endocrine therapy as adjuvant therapy.

The frequency of complications after these surgeries is high, which affects the postoperative course and mortality. In patients who undergo these types of surgeries, continuous monitoring of the perioperative central venous oxygen saturation (ScvO) is possible via a central venous catheter.

However, immune-related adverse events (irAEs) must be addressed to maximize the efficacy of ICIs. Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) infection is considered as a type of irAE associated with ICIs, but the underlying mechanism is not completely understood.

Background: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiography (ERC)-related procedures, usually performed before biliary tract cancer (BTC) surgery, are associated with increased risk for various complications, which can cause sarcopenia. No study has previously elucidated the relationship between preoperative ERC-related procedures and sarcopenia/skeletal muscle mass loss.
Methods: Patients with BTC who underwent radical surgical resection following ERC-related procedures were included.
Post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) is an acute pancreatitis caused by endoscopic-retrograde-cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). About 10% of patients develop PEP after ERCP. Here we show that gamma-glutamyltransferase 1 (GGT1)-SNP rs5751901 is an eQTL in pancreatic cells associated with PEP and a positive regulator of the IL-6 amplifier.
