[Macdonald Critchley].

In this paper, I review some of the writings of Macdonald Critchley with an accompanying biographical sketch. The contents of his first book, "Mirror-Writing" (1928) as well as those of "Aphasiology and other aspects of language" (1970), and his views on aphasia are presented. The book "Mirror-Writing" consists of a major review of mirror writing and related reversal phenomena.

We report a case of a 22-year-old male who was transferred to our hospital in a comatose state following successive seizures. Low blood glucose had been detected upon his arrival at the previous hospital. He became responsive 12 days after the onset of coma.

We previously reported on single-incision laparoscopic surgery applied to laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) cases. We accumulated single-incision LAVH cases to evaluate this operation, including its learning curve. Since July 2009, we planned to perform single-incision LAVH in 50 cases.
