Hypertension is one of the most serious side effects of glucocorticoid therapy. We retrospectively investigated the frequency of hypertension during treatment of adrenal crisis and analyzed the factors associated with its development. Patients who were admitted for primary hypoadrenalism due to diagnosed or suspected adrenal crisis were included.

In partial hepatectomy (PH), a part of blood in circulation is lost along with removed liver tissues; consequently, the number of blood cells and the amount of Tf in circulation decreases. These decreases should greatly affect the uptake of (111)In in the liver and bone marrow.

- In rats, both PH and venesection resulted in decreased blood cells and transferrin levels, but the effects on (67)Ga uptake differed between the two methods.
- After PH, the liver showed a significant increase in (67)Ga uptake, while reticulocytes (immature red blood cells) did not; the opposite occurred after venesection, highlighting the role of transferrin receptors in these processes.
