Long-term study of functional outcomes of robotic assisted medial UKA using mid-vastus approach in a high-volume centre.

Robotic UKA is one of the recent advancement in surgical management for medial compartment knee osteoarthritis. Over the years, there have been many studies which have showed results of various conventional UKA, high tibial osteotomy and even robotic uka for medial OA of knee all over the world. But still there is very less work on long-term outcome-based analysis of functional outcomes of robotic assisted medial UKA using mid-vastus approach, which was the aim of the study.

A review of three cases of mobile blast: The new culprit of hand injury.

Although blast injuries are common with war; cooking gas; firecracker, mobile phone blast cases are increasing in number in last couple of years. We present 3 cases of mobile blast in 3 children causing injury to dominant hand in them.

Congenital urethrocutaneous fistula in an adolescent male.

A urethrocutaneous fistula is a common complication after hypospadias repair, but congenital fistula is a rare anomaly. We present a 16-year-old boy with this unusual anomaly. Its etiology, embryology, and management are discussed in brief.

A review of 48 patients after bear attacks in Central India: Demographics, management and outcomes.

Introduction: Bear attacks though relatively rare are frequent enough to be of concern for those who are in bear habitats. Our centre at Nagpur, being surrounded by dense forests from all the sides, treats a large number of victims.

Aim: The aim was to document the injuries, management and the potential complications of bear attacks.

Normal mouth opening in an adult Indian population.

Background: Mouth opening among different population has been shown to vary considerably and its range is specific for a given population. The present study is an attempt to calculate the normal mouth opening in adult Indian population.

Method: A total of 894 adults, 463 males and 431 females, in the age range of 21 to 70 years were studied.

Clinicopathological analysis of eyelid malignancies - A review of 85 cases.

Background: Resection of eyelid malignancies leads to complex reconstructive problems due to the functional and aesthetic importance of an eyelid. Hence, a large number of such cases are referred to plastic surgery facilities. Eyelid malignancies are of varied histological types and the western and Asian data have considerable variations in case distribution and presentation.

Tumor like swellings arising from Hoffa's fat pad: A report of three patients.

We report three rare cases of tumor-like conditions arising from Hoffa's fat pad (HFP). Patients were having persistent knee pain, the cause of which was not diagnosed by the general physician, and then were referred to us for knee pain. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed the lesions to be arising from HFP (ganglion cysts and hemangioma), as was suggested by clinical findings.

The average Indian female nose.

Background: This study aimed to delineate the anthropometric measurements of the noses of young women of an Indian population and to compare them with the published ideals and average measurements for white women.

Methods: This anthropometric survey included a volunteer sample of 100 young Indian women ages 18 to 35 years with Indian parents and no history of previous surgery or trauma to the nose. Standardized frontal, lateral, oblique, and basal photographs of the subjects' noses were taken, and 12 standard anthropometric measurements of the nose were determined.

Effect of aging on the shape and position of the eyebrow in an Indian population.

Background: The eyebrow is one of the most important structures of the face from an aesthetic point of view. As age increases, the brow changes its shape and position. This age-related change decreases the vitality, youth, and expression associated with the aesthetically ideal face.

Anthropometry of the eyelid and palpebral fissure in an Indian population.

Background: The shapes of the eyebrow and upper eyelid are distinctive facial landmarks. In cosmetic and reconstructive procedures, maintenance of the anatomical relations of these landmarks ensures a pleasing postoperative appearance.

Objectives: The authors establish normal values for eyelid anthropometry in an Indian population.

Aesthetic surgery: expanding horizons: concepts, desires, and fears of rural women in central India.

Background: We are experiencing greater demand for aesthetic surgery from rural populations. The present study attempts to understand their concepts and beliefs.

Methods: A double-blinded survey with random sampling was done in 34 villages in central India.

Schwannoma of upper eyelid: A rare differential diagnosis of eyelid swellings.

Schwannoma is a relatively rare benign tumour of peripheral nerve origin. The occurrence of Schwannoma in eyelid is extremely rare. As per our knowledge, only 11 such cases have been reported in the literature so far.

Background: The past decade has seen tremendous changes in the management of cleft deformities with the advent of the Smile Train project. The present study evaluates the effect of the Smile Train project on the demographics of cleft deformities.

Method: Data collected over the past three decades were studied retrospectively.

A clinicopathological study of eyelid malignancies from central India.

Background: Eyelid malignancies are completely treatable if detected early. The treatment depends on the invasiveness of the cancer which in turn depends on the type of malignancy.

Aim: The aim of the study was to characterize the distribution of the types of eyelid malignancies in central India.

Efficacy and safety of the first parenteral selective COX-2 inhibitor, parecoxib sodium, in adult patients with postoperative pain.

Parecoxib, a prodrug of valdecoxib, a selective COX-2 inhibitor, has been recently introduced for the treatment of moderate to severe postoperative pain. This prospective, open, multicentric study enrolled 260 patients undergoing orthopaedic, gynaecological, dental and general surgery. Postoperatively, patients were treated with parecoxib, 40 mg IM/IV.
