Introduction: To study the ultra-structural changes in the diseased corneal cells by histopathology, electron microscopy, and immunohistochemistry using conventional antisera and monoclonal antibodies with the ultimate goal of justifying pre-treatment and post-treatment advice and, if necessary, modifying the post-operative treatment for improved graft survival.

Methods: Thirty cases registered for penetrating keratoplasty were worked up for routine systemic and ophthalmic criteria. A full-thickness diseased cornea was subjected to histopathology after suitable staining and fixation, including electron microscopic and immunohistochemical studies where possible.

Breast cancer biomarkers that detect marginally advanced stages are still challenging. The detection of specific abnormalities, targeted therapy selection, prognosis, and monitoring of treatment effectiveness over time are all made possible by circulating free DNA (cfDNA) analysis. The proposed study will detect specific genetic abnormalities from the plasma cfDNA of a female breast cancer patient by sequencing a cancer-related gene panel (MGM455 - Oncotrack Ultima), including 56 theranostic genes (SNVs and small INDELs).

The development of pleural effusion in patients with active rheumatoid arthritis is a relatively common entity, yet it is uncommon in patients without clinical arthritis and other clinical features of disease flare-ups. This case report describes a 58-year-old patient with rheumatoid arthritis treated with sulfasalazine who developed recurrent large pleural effusion without clinical arthritis, after being in remission for nine years. Laboratory results showed neutrophilic leukocytosis, along with elevated inflammatory markers.

Pectoralis major muscle sarcomas are extremely rare and can mimic breast lesion clinically. We report a case of poorly differentiated sarcoma of the pectoralis major muscle in a 63-year-old woman of south east Asian ethnicity presenting with a progressively increasing right breast lump. Mammography, ultrasonography (US), contrast-enhanced computed tomography, and biopsy were done to make the final diagnosis.

In peripheral blood, cell-free DNA (cfDNA) contains circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA), which indicates molecular abnormalities in metastatic breast tumor tissue. The sequencing of cfDNA of Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) patients allows assessment of therapy response and noninvasive treatment. In the proposed study, clinically significant alterations in PIK3CA and TP53 genes associated with MBC resulting in a missense substitution of His1047Arg and Arg282Trp from an next-generation sequencing-based multi-gene panel were reported in a cfDNA of a patient with MBC.

The authors highlight critical disparities in the manufacture and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines although over 350 COVID-19 vaccine candidates are reported to be in the preclinical and clinical development phase. The history of vaccine research and production in India is as ancient as the history of vaccines themselves.
