Cerium doped ZSM-5 (Ce-ZSM-5) as an environmentally benign and reusable catalyst for the construction of acridines in aqueous medium. This method produced corresponding acridines with good yields and shorter reaction times. Also avoids the use of hazardous solvents and involves a simple work-up process.

Abiotic stress, especially at flowering stage, causes drastic effect on yield in plants. Deforestation and urbanization made the water table very low and changed the climate which led to untimely and unforeseen rains which affect the yield of a crop through stress, both by lack of water as well as water logging (abiotic stress).

Cotton transformants were produced from the phosphinothricin (PPT)-resistant shoots obtained after co-cultivation of mature embryos with the Agrobacterium strain EHA105 harbouring recombinant binary vector pCAMBIA3300-ASAL-BAR. PCR and Southern blot analysis confirmed the presence and stable integration of ASAL and BAR genes in various transformants of cotton.
