Article Synopsis
- We used agarose gel electrophoresis to separate gold nanoparticles by their size, shape, and charge.
- We first demonstrated this technique by successfully separating spherical gold nanoclusters of various sizes (5 nm, 15 nm, and 20 nm).
- Additionally, we purified a crude mixture of gold nanoclusters to obtain a more uniform size and showed that we could also separate different shapes of gold nanoparticles (spheres, plates, and rods).
