Eotaxins and C-C chemokine receptor type 3 in Parkinson's disease.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is one of the most common neuroinflammatory disorders and inflammatory processes seem to play an important role in the pathogenesis of PD. Chemokines as inflammatory mediators, which are involved in the recruitment of leukocytes, can play a role in the pathogenesis of PD. The aim of this study was to examine the serum level of eotaxins (CCL11, CCL24, and CCL26) and the expression of C-C chemokine receptor type 3 (CCR3) in patients with PD compared with healthy subjects.
