Purpose: To implement a physical therapy intervention protocol targeting patients admitted for gynaecological surgery to the gynaecological ward of XXXX Hospital.
Method: A prospective, cross-sectional and observational study was conducted with women admitted to the gynaecology ward, from June 2014 through June 2015. The study was divided into three phases with data on admissions to the gynaecology ward.
Aims: To verify if hypopressive exercises (HEs) can improve pelvic organ prolapse (POP) symptoms equally or better than pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT).
Methods: Randomized controlled trial. Symptomatic women with untreated stage II POP according to the Pelvic Organ Prolapse Quantification System (POP-Q) having the ability to contract their pelvic floor muscles were invited.
The electrocardiogram (ECG) reveals that heart chamber activation and repolarization are much faster in mammals and birds compared to ectothermic vertebrates of similar size. Temperature, however, affects electrophysiology of the heart and most data from ectotherms are determined at body temperatures lower than those of mammals and birds. The present manuscript is a review of the effects of temperature on intervals in the ECG of ectothermic and endothermic vertebrates rather than a hypothesis-testing original research article.

Background And Objective: Portal vein thrombosis (PVT) is a common complication in cirrhosis, and when complete, it increases morbidity and mortality in liver transplant candidates. The aim of the study was to assess the hemostatic status, as well as clinical characteristics of thrombus and patients, as predictors of therapeutic efficacy of anticoagulation for the treatment of PVT in cirrhotics.
Patients And Methods: Patients with cirrhosis consecutively treated for PVT with enoxaparin were enrolled.
The case reports a 49-year-old patient, drug-addicted, undernourished, and homeless, who was referred to our service presenting a diagnostic of breast sarcoma and ulcerating tumor which extended from the right breast to the right flank. She underwent hygienic mastectomy and, as it developed, she presented a range of complications, culminating in the recurrence of the tumor and pulmonary metastasis few months after her initial treatment. There is relevance in our study not only because it reports the development of the breast sarcoma, rare neoplasm, and its aggressiveness with fast recurrence, but also because it exposes the impact of biopsychosocial behavior of this patient in her clinical outcome.

In this population, ExtF-related variables such as the arterial partial pressure of oxygen to fraction of inspired oxygen ratio (PaO/FiO), rapid shallow breathing index, cough strength, endotracheal secretions and neurological function have been sparsely researched.
Aim: To identify variables that are predictive of ExtF and related outcomes.
Current therapeutic strategies for osteochondral restoration showed a limited regenerative potential. In fact, to promote the growth of articular cartilage and subchondral bone is a real challenge, due to the different functional and anatomical properties. Ultrastructural and electrophysiological investigation revealed that the nerves connecting the brain to the heart are myelinated, conferring rapid conduction velocities, comparable to mammalian fibers that generate instantaneous changes in heart rate at the onset of each air breath. These respiration-related changes in beat-to-beat cardiac intervals were detected by complex analysis of HRV and shown to maximize oxygen uptake per breath, a causal relationship never conclusively demonstrated in mammals.

Introduction: Pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) involves the contraction of the puborectal, anal sphincter and external urethral muscles, inhibiting the detrusor contraction, what justify its use in the treatment of overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms.
Objective: To verify the effects of isolated PFMT on the symptoms of OAB.
Method: Prospective clinical trial with 27 women with mixed urinary incontinence (MUI), with predominance of OAB symptoms and loss ≥ 2 g in the pad test.
