Purpose Of Review: Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology will significantly alter critical care cardiology, from our understanding of diseases to the way in which we communicate with patients and colleagues. We summarize the potential applications of AI in the cardiac intensive care unit (CICU) by reviewing current evidence, future developments and possible challenges.

Recent Findings: Machine Learning (ML) methods have been leveraged to improve interpretation and discover novel uses for diagnostic tests such as the ECG and echocardiograms.

Background: The goal of this study was to examine the effects of spinal cord stimulation (SCS) on muscle activity during walking after lower-limb amputation. Amputation results in a loss of sensory feedback and alterations in gait biomechanics, including co-contractions of antagonist muscles about the knee and ankle, and reduced pelvic obliquity range-of-motion and pelvic drop. SCS can restore sensation in the missing limb, but its effects on muscle activation and gait biomechanics have not been studied in people with lower-limb amputation.

High-frequency precipitation (solid/liquid) isotope datasets are useful for identification of moisture sources and various dynamical and thermodynamical processes controlling precipitation formation. Here, we report three-year (2019-2021) daily rain isotope (both oxygen, δO hereafter, and hydrogen, δH, hereafter) datasets from three unique locations in India during the Indian Summer Monsoon (ISM). The locations are- (1) Port Blair- an island situated in the Bay of Bengal (BoB); (2) Mahabaleshwar, located at the crest of the Western Ghats Mountain; and (3) Tezpur, in northeast India, situated close to a dense forest.

Applications of photoluminescence (PL) from semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) have faced the dichotomy of excitonic emission being susceptible to self-absorption and shallow defects reducing quantum yield (QY) catastrophically, and doped emissions sacrificing the tunability of the emission wavelength a quantum size effect, making it extremely challenging, if not impossible, to optimize all desirable properties simultaneously. Here we report a strategy that simultaneously optimizes all desirable PL properties in CdS QDs by leveraging interface engineering through the growth of two crystallographic phases, namely wurtzite and zinc blende phases, within individual QDs. These engineered interfaces result in sub-bandgap emissions ultrafast energy transfer (∼780 fs) from band-edge states to interface states protected from surface defects, enhancing stability and prolonging the PL lifetime.

CO fixation and light-assisted conversion of CO in the presence of water into fuels and feedstocks are clean and sustainable techniques to alleviate the energy crisis and global climate change. In this regard, herein, a waterborne multifunctional metal-organic coordination polymer gel (Ag@GMP) was prepared from silver nitrate and guanosine 5'-monophosphate. Electron microscopy exhibits that Ag@GMP has a flower-like structure, which is composed of vertically grown sheets, and corresponding high magnification images display the presence of silver nanoparticles on the vertically grown sheets.

The electrocatalytic water oxidation activity of three copper(II) complexes [Cu(L1H)(L)](ClO) (1), [Cu(L2H)(L)(HO)](ClO) (2) and [Cu(L3H)(L)](ClO) (3) with aryl oxime ligands L1H, L2H and L3H [L1H = 1-(pyridin-2-yl)methanone oxime, L2H = 1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethanone oxime and L3H = 1-(pyridin-2-yl)propanone oxime] was investigated. All the three ligands have in common a pyridyl group attached to the carbon centre of the oxime moiety and differ in the second substituent attached to the carbon centre. Electrochemical investigation of the catalytic activity of complexes 1, 2 and 3 shows that the nature of the substituent attached to the carbon centre has an influence on the catalytic pathway and overall catalytic activity of these complexes.
