Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a significant complication of allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation, an immune response against the host's tissues, resulting in inflammation and intestinal damage. GVHD is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in this group of people, with an incidence of approximately 29.9% to 36% in acute grade II-IV gastrointestinal cases.

Our aim was to evaluate perioperative, oncological, and functional outcomes of robot-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPN) for hilar tumours (RAPN-H) in comparison to RAPN for nonhilar tumours (RAPN-NH).
Methods: We conducted an observational, multicentre cohort study using prospectively collected data from the French Research Network on Kidney Cancer (UroCCR).
The combined application of electric fields and ultrasonic waves has shown promise in controlling cell membrane permeability, potentially resulting in synergistic effects that can be explored in the biotechnology industry. However, further clarification on how these processes interact is still needed. The objective of the present study was to investigate the atomic-scale effects of these processes on a DPPC lipid bilayer using molecular dynamics simulations.

Around the world, REEs are also involuntarily applied to soils through phosphate fertilizers. These elements are known to alleviate damage in plants under abiotic stresses, yet there is no information on how these elements act in the physiology of plants.

Complicated/recurrent cases, however, are usually managed by reconstructive surgery. We hereby highlight our technique of robotic-assisted native pyeloureterostomy with indocyanine green (ICG).

Previously, we showed that the administration of human mRNA predominantly expressed in the gene-trapped mouse liver augmented the expression of hepatic GALT activity, which decreased not only galactose-1 phosphate (gal-1P) in the liver but also peripheral tissues. Since each peripheral tissue requires distinct methods to examine the biomarker and/or GALT effect, this highlights the necessity for alternative strategies to evaluate the overall impact of therapies.

A thorough review of the medical literature highlights a vast array of approved and investigational treatments for prostate cancer. Thus, selecting the best treatment option for the appropriate patient at the right time is crucial.

Robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) with intracorporeal urinary diversion (ICUD) delivers similar oncologic outcomes compared to ORC, yet with lower blood loss and reduced transfusions. However, the impact of BT after robotic cystectomy is still unknown.

Nowadays, adolescents in Lebanon are growing during a time of unprecedented health crises and political instability. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and correlates of malnutrition, dietary diversity in adolescents' households, and adolescents' self-reported food insecurity in Lebanon.

As there has been no comprehensive review of these diseases, the International Consortium for Osteoarticular Mycoses prepared a definitive treatise for this important class of infections. Among the etiologies of osteoarticular mycoses are spp.

Traditional trade has typically depended on economic valuation of resources, while the embedded environmental value is rarely considered. This situation exists in most BRI trade evaluations.

Several obstacles preclude brain-dead organ transplantation in the Middle East, going from social and cultural barriers to economical and structural difficulties. To our knowledge, this is the first study to report Lebanese experience with pure LLDN, and kidney transplantation.

Electroporation is a cell-level phenomenon caused by an ionic imbalance in the membrane, being of great relevance in various fields of knowledge. A dependence of the pore formation kinetics on the environmental conditions (temperature and pressure) of the cell membrane has already been reported, but further clarification regarding how these variables affect the pore formation/resealing dynamics and the transport of molecules through the membrane is still lacking. The objective of the present study was to investigate the temperature (288-348 K) and pressure (1-5000 atm) effects on the electroporation kinetics using coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations.

When and how to achieve a carbon peak is a concern for provincial regions within China under the context of achieving carbon neutrality in 2060. This study investigates the overall carbon peak environmental and resource impacts under current national targets and Shanghai's latest more aggressive carbon peak policy by using a dynamic multiple-region computable general equilibrium (CGE) model for the year 2030. Results show that (1) the national carbon peak and the more aggressive regional policy in Shanghai will result in energy consumption and carbon emissions decreases when compared to the business-as-usual scenario in most provinces; (2) although some cobenefits in water use reduction may occur in most provinces under the carbon policy scenarios, the results show positive and negative variations; (3) provincial level environmental and resources in transport, electricity, metal smelting and pressing, and agricultural production sectors are most influenced by Shanghai's aggressive carbon peak policy; and (4) the outsourced environmental and resource impacts from Shanghai to other provinces are very significant under Shanghai's aggressive carbon policy.

The authors support the recommendations of (1) using the consolidated universal ISO 81060-2:2018 in all future validation studies to ensure consistent and trustworthy quality standards; (2) validation studies to be led by investigators independent from the manufacturer; (3) validation study results to be published in peer-reviewed journals with an independent investigator as the corresponding author; and (4) validated BPMDs to be listed on validated device registries such as STRIDE BP, Validated Device Listing (VDL), and others that are backed by acknowledged scientific associations. The authors call for public awareness of the existence of legally marketed consumer BPMDs that lack sufficient evidence of clinical accuracy.
