Evaluation of Joint Formation in Coronoid Process Hyperplasia (Jacob's Disease) on CT and MR Imaging.

Background: Jacob's disease is a rare pathology characterized by elongation/ enlargement of coronoid process of mandible with formation of pseudoarticulation with zygomatic arch. It presents clinically as restricted mouth opening and is often misdiagnosed as temporomandibular joint pathology.

Case Presentation: We performed cross sectional imaging and evaluation of Jacob's disease in a 14-year-old girl with restricted mouth opening, CT images including Multiplanar Reconstruction and Volume Rendered Technique revealed enlarged left coronoid process of mandible while open mouth CT images and MR images concluded the presence of joint between enlarged coronoid process and zygomatic arch.

Comparison of ultrasound-guided residual gastric volume measurement between diabetic and non-diabetic patients scheduled for elective surgery under general anesthesia.

Background And Aims: The presence of gastric content increases the risk of aspiration during general anesthesia. Diabetic patients have delayed gastric emptying; however, despite adequate fasting because of diabetic gastroparesis these patients have a high risk of aspiration. This study aimed to compare ultrasound-guided measurement of residual gastric volume between diabetic and non-diabetic patients scheduled for elective surgery under general anesthesia.

Exostosis of Rib: Case Report of an Extremely Rare Giant Osteochondroma at an Unusual Site, Radiopathological Correlation with Brief Review of Literature.

Osteochondromas are common benign tumors developing as an abnormal bony growth in the metaphyseal region. Being more of a developmental anomaly rather than a true neoplasm, they are usually found around the growth plates of long bones such as the knee, hip, and shoulder. These are typically managed conservatively if they are asymptomatic; however, they require excision in symptomatic patients.
